I'd not expected much of this hotel, given some reviews. But I found it convenient, friendly (the staff went to great lengths to help even when it didn't really matter that much) with good large rooms.

The conversion of the old Masonic lodge to an events venue is worth a peek while you are staying there.

No problems at the Tremont. Can't understand the previous negs?

Got a junior suite on the 25th floor and everything was fine, even the fact that i don't like heights. Large room with Queen bed and all the usual bits which were of a reasonable quality. Bathroom was again average but no problems. Room was clean and well presented.

All the staff were fine as was the sports bar on the second floor(even served after hours due to there being a crowd of us).

One special mention needs to go to the deli shop on the ground floor. Great sandwiches and great staff.

Given the fact that Hotwire got me the room for $72 + tax aside, this hotel is very good value, particularly as it is in the heart of downtown and only a 10 minute stroll to the harbour.

Stayed at the Tremont Plaza. Very nice hotel and very friendly staff. After one nights stay we were asked if we minded moving from a room and being upgraded to a suite for the rest of our stay as they had to do some work in the room next door. We didn't mind! They then sent housekeeping to help us pack and move to the 34th floor.
Views were great. Food at restaurant was lovely and plentiful. Bar is friendly and cheap. Deli in the hotel. Our own kitchen with fridge and microwave. Only problem was that shower had little power and took 5 minutes to run through hot.
You must go to Koopers on Fells point. Food is great and very cheap.
Visit to the railroad museum is a must. It is a good walk but worth it for a half day trip.
Go in to the Bank of America and look at the foyer. It is fantastic!
Went to a game at the Ravens stadium.
Friendly helpful people wherever we went.
Day trip to Washington is cheap and easy on the train.

Let me 1st say I booked through Hotwire for 79.00 a night for a Sun to Tues stay the weekend of a Pats game & the Navy/Army game so I wasn't expecting excellence. I was pleasantly surprised!

We got there early - 11am. No rooms ready yet which we expected so we dropped our bags & went for lunch & an aquarium visit. We returned at 2pm and our room was ready as promised. We were given a great room on 29th floor. Nice friendly desk staff.

Our room was a queen mini suite with a small kitchenette - fridge, mocrwave, toaster, coffee maker, bar sink, complete with dishes & glassware. The fridge was nice & cold.

The bath was small but clean & modernized. It had a hairdryer & Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Outside the bath was a large closet space with an iron & ironing board.

There was a sitting area w/table & chairs as well as a sofa with a table to watch TV. The TV swiveled so it could be seen from the sitting areas or the bed. The bed was comfortable enough & the alarm clock worked. Our view was great - I've included pictures. Our room wondows actually opened! A plus in my book - I hate stuffy rooms.

We had drinks at the hotel bar & Anthony the bartender was great! We also had some crab dip there - very good. On the 5th floor is the business center where we were able to checkin for SW air online & print boarding passes at no charge. Another big plus!

The location I thought was great. I am accustomed to walking though. It was a short walk to inner harbor (5-10mins) & a bit further to M & T stadium (about 15 mins) where we took in a game. We passed Camden on the way so it is walkable there as well.

The only areas of improvement I would say were the toilet ran a little after flushing - maybe a couple of mins then would stop. Also the provided hair dryer barely blew any air out so if you have extremely thick hair you might want to bring your own.

Checkout - a breeze. We left our bags & had lunch @ inner harbor before leaving. When we returned they had a shuttle to take us to the airport. Friendly staff all around. I would definitely stay here again especially at that bargain price!

We likd the Tremont Plaza - on arrival the doorman was really friendly and helped us out with parking advice and showed us where the waterfront was (just 5 blocks down, an easy walk)

Our room was big and well appointed and for $139 not bad for a downtown hotel.

I think Baltimore as a whole can be 'dodgy' and two blocks back on our trip in the locals looked decidedly unwelcoming. We did however as 3 young women walk around at night without once feeling threatened and the inner harbour area was really welcoming with lots to do.

My only gripe with the hotel was having to wait ages for a lift (elevator) as I think they only had 4 old lifts for 37 floors!
