We stayed a week in this property - one of several condos and houses owned by Holland Residentials. Our first night was unfortunate as, arriving late, we found ourselves in a property around the corner which was nowhere near as nice as this one & didn't fit the description and photos of I had been emailed prior to booking. Unfortunately, we couldn't ring them from the house phone as it wasn't working so had to sleep there and find a payphone in the morning. However, after this bad start things rapidly looked up! The staff at HR were very apologetic and concerned about the error & that we had to find a payphone to ring them. We were then offered the property at 1725 Sth. Hanover Street (which was the one I had seen photos of), which is lovely. On three floors, the house has hardwood floors, three good-sized bedrooms with big closets, each bedroom has its own bathroom (two with jacuzzi baths) and TV, a fully equipped kitchen. Although there were two decks and a back yard, sadly the weather wasn't warm enough to use them - if it had been these would have been a great asset. Hairdryers are provided, as are plenty of towels.
A big plus for us was the wireless internet service and the free telephone calls within the USA and to the UK.
We were missing a couple of minor items - a kettle and dishcloths - and also asked for curtains to be hung at one of the bedroom windows (rather than simply nets which were see-through). These were provided quickly and efficiently by one of their very helpful and friendly staff members.
We rang the HR staff on several occasions (they appear to be available at all times) and they were all unfailingly friendly, helpful and efficient. Worth particular mention is Michelle, whom we asked to recommend a local dentist as one of my crowns had come loose. She not only did this but actually rang the dentist and made me an appointment within the hour!
The only items we would add to make this property perfect are bedside tables and individual reading lamps on both sides of each bed.
In addition, the property is very reasonably priced. The front bedrooms are subject to traffic and train noise, but this is only to be expected as it is a city location. Parking is free on the street - sometimes we found a space outside; at other times we had to park two or three blocks away, but this was fine. The property is within easy walking distance of the Federal Hills Historic District with its funky shops and places to eat (we recommend Stones cafe on E. Cross St. for breakfast - well worth the wait in line).
