We had not eaten at this restaurant in over 30 years. The day we visited it was loaded with tourist and it seemed like the buses never stopped. It is an interesting place to vist but don't expect food out of this world. The day we were there they were serving a buffet which contained a very limited number of items. Even those items were not special. Looking at the menu we were not excited about anything we saw. Expect "tourist prices". Service was not bad but it was not outstanding. Just too many tourist packed into a small room and food quickly prepared to serve the masses.

Our waiter was great, the food was pretty good, the prices were way high. Over all we had a fun time hearing all the scary stories of hauntings, my son had a great time. The family got a treat of being in the oldest standing construction in Savannah.

I had country fried steak tips, mashed potatoes and some veggies and this was on special for like $18.00, I thought it was way over priced. My husband ordered the steak loin and it was about $24.00 the plate.

We enjoyed ourselves and don't regret going but wouldn't go again.

I must say after a long day of travelling about in Savannah, I wanted to treat the kids to something unique and I thought that this may be the place-well maybe for them, but not for us. Over, over priced food that I could have got at Long John Silvers! Wow, someone needs to tell the head chef to wake up! We were seated under some A/C ducting that was dripping consistently all over my wife. Just stop by here for the look around for some history, head down by the river, there are plenty of good places to eat down there.
I highly suggest that you read deep into the reviews for this place, to save yourself the heartache and money! Go somewhere worth while in Savannah!

While visiting Savannah last week, we ate at the Pirate House twice. The first visit was friendly and we enjoyed the food.
The second visit was even better. Not only was the hamburger wonderful, my daughter enjoyed the buffet very much.
We couldn't wait to develop our pictures once home, and we have over a dozen images that are truely awesome from pictures we took after our meal when we were allowed to tour the entire restaurant. I highly recommend the Pirate House to anyone visiting Savannah!

This was included as part of a tour and was the food was HORRIBLE.

I've lived in the south for 50+ years and anyone that claims this to be southern- style cooking is out of their mind. The biscuits are straight out of a can. The vegetables were tasteless. The chicken would have been better if it were purchased from KFC. The tour charged $21 extra for the meal and it didn't even include a dessert. I wouldn't advise anyone waste their money.

Go to Church's Chicken and get the chicken and fried okra, it's more satisfying by far (an cheaper).
