We paid $74.00 with a coupon from one of those rest area coupon books. I guess it was a fair deal but the property is in poor shape. I have stayed at other Country Inns but this one definately falls short. The hall had peeling wallpaper. The bathroom had a flourescent fixture that flickered and there was much mildew in the bathtub. The floor was sticky and the toilet paper holder fixture was gross. There were crumbs and stains in the desk chair. The carpet felt dirty when you walked on it barefoot. Unfortunately we checked in and threw our stuff in the room then headed to downtown Savanna. We did not return until late that night and we were too tired to complain and ask for another room. We did report the condition to the desk clerk who seemed indifferent.

There are many other choices at this exit at the same pricepoint.

Stayed two nights at the County Inn in mid October and was not entirely satified with the experience. The suites are very small and the furnishings and rugs are a bit shabby. The beds were OK - the pullout was useless. NO cold water in the sink! Breakfast was OK; the pool was highly chlorinated; and the staff were OK. Would recommend only to travellers on a strict budget who want to be near Route 95.

“A nice place to spend the night”

Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Savannah - Gateway

On our way to Florida, my husband, our 2 1/2 yr old and I stopped here for the night. This hotel is right off of I 95 and close to a few places to eat. The hotel itself was very clean, very nicely decorated, and full of nice people willing to help us out. They have a nice indoor heated pool which is very clean and a hot tub, towels provided. They also offer a continental breakfast with more to choose from than the ordinary bread and coffee. My husband actually came back to the room w/two hard boiled eggs which took me by surprise.

Since this was just a one night stay, we had not expected too much, but were pleasently surprised in the end. The room was nice, clean, and simple, which was just about all we could ask for.

When in route or to spend more than one night, I would suggest this hotel!

We stayed here one night June 5, 2004. Very pleasant staff, clean rooms, good selection of breakfast items. Pool and spa were nice sized.
