We stayed in the hotel the July 4th long-weekend (2008) for 3 nights with 2 girlfriends while visiting a friend. We arrived there Friday afternoon, and requested a room with 2 double beds. After 15 minutes of searching (I'm not quite sure what takes so long) the girl told us that they have one room left with 2 doubles, but in the smoking area. We took it. When we arrived at the room and opened the door, the TV was on, the beds were undone. THEY GAVE US THE KEY TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S ROOM. When we got back downstairs instead of apologizing, the girl thought it was funny, and said that whoever checked those people in "forgot" to mark the room off as occupied in the system. We did not feel safe for the rest of the trip, and were worried that the key to our room would be given to someone else- carried all cash and passports and jewelery on hand at all times. It took the girl another 1/2 hr to find us a room, and she rudely would talk to other clients who wouldn't wait their turn. WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! COMPLETELY UNSAFE, AND HORRIBLE. Furthermore, the room that we got had 1 queen bed, as there were no more doubles or king bed rooms left. Also they had no more roll away beds (for which we were willing to pay extra). Instead, 3 of us slept on 1 queen bed for 3 nights. Walls in the hotel were paper thin, and we could hear people snoring in the room next to us. This hotel ruined our trip, and the service was awful!

We got 2 rooms for $50.00 each, nightly rate for 5 days using an online agent.

The staff was friendly, hotel was very clean and had a very nice kitchen with toaster, stove top range, cabinets, countertops, full fridge/freezer, and all the utensils and cooking pots/pans.

My only complaint was the television. TV was too small and not enough channels. Other than that, we had a great experience!

No pool and no breakfast however they do offer fresh hot coffee in the mornings.

Arrived at 11pm but we were told to come back in 40 minutes because he was leaving in 15 minutes (made no sense why he wouldn't check us in). Finally got in our room about midnight. There was a dirt ring around the tub. We asked for clean towels the next day and were told to bring them our dirty towels in order to get clean ones. There was left over food in the refrigerator. Basically, room was not clean and there was poor customer service.

We had a very pleasant stay for two nights while we were in Savannah. We would have liked to have stayed in the historical district, but availability was slim and the prices outrageous! This place was quite despite a softball team staying at the hotel, check in and check out was easy, room was clean and sufficient. The price was amazing for the location. I don't think there was a hotel this close to the historical district at this price. The next closest place was a few blocks down the street and almost double the price!

“Nice Kitchenette - Not Bad for $75 - A little Noisy”

Extended StayAmerica Savannah Abercorn

26 Jun 2005
5/5 found this review helpful

In June 2005, we stayed in a King Suite. The room was nice. The kitchenette had all you would need for two: stove, microwave, pots, silverware, full-sized refrigerator, etc.

The price was okay. With AAA discount we paid $75 per night.

The location is decent DeRenne and Abercorn in the Savannah Midtown area. But the Historic District is just a few minutes away by car. You wouldn't want to walk there by foot.

Two negatives. One is noise. We stayed in room 106, on the first floor. We could hear the neighbors upstairs, across the hall, and next to us. Two is the annoying firealarm positioned right above our bed. Two lights kept blinking on and off.

They also offered WiFi for all nights for just $5!!
