Location is good--easy drive in to the historic district and to Tybee Island. A quiet place; seemed to be a mix of tourists and folks in the process of relocating for jobs.

The room and kitchenette were clean: no mold or hair in the shower, clean sheets and towels (more about towels later). The fridge kept our stuff good and cold and the two-burner stove worked fine. The cleanliness, quiet, and functioning appliances keeps this property from getting a Terrible rating.

Now for the rest: these rooms are tiny and have limited, poor quality furnishings and have very little space to put suitcases. In addition to the two straight back chairs with the dining table, there was one other chair and it got very uncomfortable after a short time. Also, the bed lacked support and the pillows were thin or lumpy--I woke up with a backache every day and we stayed a week.

The room also smelled funky; not exactly like smoke but it cleared after a few minutes of running the A/C so we didn't bother to try to change the room.

Bring extra towels and washcloths! We didn't know that this chain does housekeeping only once a week. My wife asked for extra washcloths and towels; while they gave them to her, she was told that most people use the laundry to avoid extra charges! We weren't charged, by the way.

If you're going to be out and gone all day, then come back to watch some TV or read then sleep, not a bad deal, but not really a good place to relax. Not sure what we would have done if the weather had turned bad. This hotel is close to movies and malls, so we probably would have hung out there if it had rained. My preference next time would be to stay elsewhere if possible.

“dirty”

It began with the minute we arrived. The front desk told us that our room was not clean yet. We arrived after 3pm ( 3pm was check in time). Then when we finally get in the room it had hair in the sink and shower. Chicken was in the freezer. The stove top was dirty. The linens were soiled when we turned back the bedspread.

The price was reasonable and location was decent.

“An Okay Stay - But slow check-in/ check-out”

As we didn't want to stay in the noisy river area, we booked this hotel on the internet before we headed out on our roadtrip.

It's a fairly typical Extended Stay so, the rooms, etc. are pretty much what you would expect. The area that it's in seems like it's not the nicest of areas but they are putting in new buildings/ malls so I guess they are cleaning it up. We didn't feel "unsafe"...just made you a bit wary with all the pawn shops around, "pay before you pump" gas stations, etc.

It's about a 10 minute drive down to the river so it's not that far -- and you do get to drive through all the nice squares and see the real "Savannah". You can get a great meal at One-Eyed Lizzie's by the river.

The check-in seemed to take FOREVER as they appear to have many extra steps compared to other hotels. The process seemed even worse seeing as two ladies in front of me had not pre-booked. However, my check-in wasn't much shorter and much of the info that I'd put into the system to pre-book was repeated at time of check-in (?!?).

The room was a standard room. It was "clean" enough but did seem a bit dirty in some ways. I really don't want to think what that white stain was on the cushion of the recliner in the room!

They had hi-speed but there was no mention of it at check-in so I had to call, get an ID#...and agree to pay an additonal $4.99 (for what if it's already there?!?!).

Check-out was also slow and seemed sort of repetative/ paper-heavy. Not to mention that the two women on the front desk were spending more time talking to each other about some issue vs direction attention to the customer standing in front of the desk. Being able to check out from the room would be a very beneficial thing!

But, overall, it wasn't a bad stay...just slow.

“Pack a can of Raid!”

The best thing about this hotel was the location and the rate. There were plenty of good restaurants nearby. It is only a 20 minute drive to Tybee Island and 10 minute drive to Savannah's Historic District. If you arrive after 11pm, the office is closed. You will have to call a number and this guy will check you in. The first room we stayed in the bathroom was covered with little black flies! We went to guest services the next morning and they gladly changed our room. We then realize that the new room was located next to the irate lady who was blessing out the Front Desk clerk. This hotel was apparently her home, she has been living there an entire year. The conditions of our second room at first glance was much better until I got into the shower and there was a roach crawling in the shower. While, my boyfriend was killing the roach, a black and white spider climbed down the wall! I have stayed in much better hotels than this for less than $70 a night.
