My fiance surprised me with a 1 night stay at the Hawthorne Suites in Savannah, GA. There are a LOT of nice hotels in the immediate airport area, but he went for this one because the lady at the front desk was apparently extremely nice and helpful, and offered him a military discount (he's in the Army).
He got the jacuzzi suite, which consisted of several small rooms. It had a small living area with a work desk, sofa chair, whirlpool, and plasma tv on the wall (where you could watch tv while in the hot tub). I think it even had a VCR/DVD player as well (but we didn't try it out). Then there was a wide hallway area with a kitchenette that had plenty of cabinet space, microwave, mini-fridge, paper towels, coffee maker, etc. You could get kitchen utensils upon request at the front desk (which we did not need).
The bathroom was pretty standard, but nice. It was definitely one of the cleanest shower/tubs I have ever seen at a hotel. There was no dirt or hair anywhere, and plenty of towels & toiletries.
The bedroom was a separate room that closed off with a door. It consisted of a bed with 2 small bedside tables, a TV, and closet. The bed was full of pillows and so comfortable!! Instead of the big comforter that hotels usually use (and do not wash often), they give you a clean duvet type of thing with a soft down blanket in the middle--I loved it.
Breakfast is included, and it was awesome! They even had out real plates and glass cups (versus the standard styrofoam). They had biscuits and gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, pastries, cereal, yogurt, bagels and more. It was all really good, and there was plenty of food and space in the breakfast area.
Overall, everything was great and we had no problems whatsoever. If I wanted to nit-pick, I could mention that the housekeeper was knocking at our door by 10:20am to see if we were out, even though check-out isn't until 11am. When we did go to check out, the lady at the desk said she was not familiar with the new system and that we had to wait for some guy to get there and get our receipt. Well we waited for a little while but were unable to wait longer, so we did not get a receipt...(we can probably have them email, fax, or mail it to us).
I do not know what rate my fiance paid for the room, so I don't know if it was "worth it" for the price, but it was definitely a good stay and I would reccommend the hotel!
