We should have read the reviews first. The problem is, this place, like so many in downtown Savannah, looks quaint. It's not. It's a greasy spoon stuck in the middle of the historic district.
We had one of the cheaper breakfast items, two eggs and bacon. They served us a small plate each, on which were two undercooked eggs -- didn't matter how we'd ordered them ,they were undercooked -- three nearly transparent strips of bacon, hash browns that came out of a bag from the freezer, and white or wheat bread. Sourdough or rye, they informed us, could be purchased for an additional $1.79. All this for $7.99 each. Service was okay.
The eggs were so undercooked that I would question how safe it was to eat them.
The only good part was that we were the only people in the place, which means that maybe the rest of Savannah has caught on, and this place will be put out of its misery soon.
There are dozens of other restaurants close by, at least some of whom serve breakfast. In the interests of your health and your purse, make sure you go to them and not to the Cobblestone.
