the staff here is terrible. i made my reservation by calling the hotel direct. after ringing about 20 times, a lady finally answered and was not very helpful! she had to transfer me to someone else, who only half-heartedly answered my questions.
my first impression of the hotel was bad because of the staff. this immediately melted away when i walked through the doors. what a beautiful lobby area! i was very impressed. when i reached the registration desk, however, i again was met with the same staff behavior that had left me disgusted when i made my reservation. they seemed to be BOTHERED that i was checking in, despite the fact that i am a very valued member of the Hilton honors program! (i later found that the lady who answered the phone and was bothered by my arrival was the manager of their front desk!!!) nonetheless, the hotel was beautiful and clean. i was very pleased with the hotel itself, it was just the staff that made me want to never come back. i stay in hotels about 70 nights a year for business and am rarely am phased my a dirty room, rude or ignorant employee because i know its only one night i usually have to be involved with them. i like to give people a chance, too, because i know that everyone has bad days.
almost the entire staff at this hotel (with the exception of the housekeeper who cleaned my room and a young girl in the restaurant) seemed to be totally unconcerned with the guests and their satisfaction. (would you even believe that when i needed the shuttle to the airport at 11am they COULD NOT FIND their own shuttle driver?? i was told to call a cab if i needed to get there in a hurry! they eventually got a neighboring hotel to give me a ride, but i was panicked for about an hour.)
the restaurant at this hotel was great. the service was slow, but i was told that the server was new and had only came in to interview and ended up working, or something like that. she was sluggish and shy, but i attribute this to her newness. she was likeable and pleasant.
the same server brought me one helluva mixed drink when i asked her to surprise me--the restaurant at this hotel and the design of this hotel are the only saving graces the hotel has to offer. i do not plan to stay here again. there are other hotels in this area that will make me feel like i'm valued. i give this hotel a 3 out of 10.
