The 1895 Inn is gorgeous, it's in an ideal location, and the innkeeper (we only met one of them) is so friendly and gracious. We did have a good stay. But it's odd that no one else mentions this: you should stay there if you want to talk to other folks all the time and if you have a relaxed schedule that allows you time for the introductory tour and formal breakfast. I'm just not that patient. I like meeting the other guests and the innkeepers, but my goodness, an hour-long tour that gets started over every time another guest arrives is too much!
Our room was gorgeous, and the whole Inn is very nicely decorated. But it didn't feel comfortable. In fact, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever encountered. The mattress was horribly broken into a deep "u" in the center, and the whole bed squeaked loudly with the slightest movement. It has always baffled me why innkeepers let stuff like that happen. All they need to do is stay overnight in each room every now and then to make sure everything is OK.
Overall it's a nice place. If they fix that bed, and stop forcing everyone to eat together at the same time, it'll be perfect.
