Took my wife for her 40th birthday and we both agreed it was the best food of our trip. We started with the Artillery Punch (you get to keep the glass) and they are strong! Next, a Cesear Salad is made at your table. My wife had the grouper florentine and I had the filet mignon. It was the best steak I have had in years! We go here every time we visit Savannah.

If you're walking along River Street (like I was) looking for a place to eat, and you pass by River House Seafood, you may see a charming southern gentleman handing out coupons for "buy one dinner get one free". He'll also tell you the food is terrific. Well, we gave it a try, coupons in hand, and were very disappointed. Oysters Rockefellar were sad, the caesar salad was tossed in a dirty bowl, and the entrees were barely average. Thankfully, one of them came free of charge, but we still paid over $60 for our meal. In addition, my glass of white wine was served at room temperature! With so many wonderful places to eat in Savannah, I highly suggest not being taken in by the "free dinner" and go somewhere else instead.

This is one of the better restaraunts in Savannah. I actually found myself going back twice in one trip. The Mahi Mahi is an exceptional treat. Dessert is fantastic. The service is sufficent. I would strongly recommend eating here for lunch over dinner, as the same menu is available for a considerably lower price. Either way, River House is a great anytime.

I was very disappointed in the River House Seafood Restaurant. The salad was very good and the warm bread was excellent. I had the crab cakes and they were a disappointment sort of flat and greasy and my husband had fried shrimp and oysters which were barely average. Our baked potatos had been reheated and were hard and sort of brown on the inside. I had a drink which I enjoyed, Chatham Artillery Punch, which came with a souvenir glass. Our waiter was surly and not at all friendly. I had to ask for more water and when he brought that he did not refill my husband's glass. If you are on River Street to eat there are much better places to spend your money.
