I recently graduated from the Sixth Sense Savannah ghost academy when I successfully completed their spookiest tour ever; the Midnight Tour. Every bit as thrilling as their brochures and website promise, the stories are intense, gruesome and absolutely bone-chilling. With a story on every corner as we strolled though the darkened streets of the downtown area, I found myself leaving behind my original skepticism and becoming genuinely interested in the tour. Sixth Sense Savannah truly sets themselves apart from the crowd by telling interesting stories of documented hauntings backed up by actual research and historical information, not to mention how extremely helpful and completely obliging their tour guides seem to be. Being a Savannah resident myself, I have long avoided recommending tours of any kind, but I now feel confident enough to say that Sixth Sense Savannah is not only worth your money, it's worth your time.

“Not Impressed”

My family and I went on the ghost tour in late July and we were very disappointed. Adam was our tour guide and his stories were not very believable. I would have liked to hear some more history or "real" stories instead of some hokey bologna about his friend, cousin, sister, etc. I have only been on one other ghost tour in another city and it was much more interesting. I was excited to do one in a place with such deep history, but we didn't hear much of anything that I thought could have been construed as history.

Our tour guide also seemed to get mixed up with his stories, starting out telling about a man named Henry and then later in the story calling him Nathan??? It also was supposed to last 2 hours, but barely lasted 1 1/2 hours. I'll try a different tour when I go back to Savannah.

Here again I find a review that is to some degree more hung up on personal expectation versus our product or the storytelling event that we promote. Which in terms of objective judgement or critique, I’ve rarely come across in the history of reviews. I will however defend Adam once more in terms of his family connections to psychic phenomenon and their deep proximity to it over 200 some odd years. If anything this reviewer might have considered their own proximity to it as the privilege that it is instead of lambasting it as false or untrue.

We did this tour with Adam in early July. He seems like a nice enough guy, but the stories he told were far-fetched -- not because they were paranormal, but because he seemed to lose track of his own train of thought. ("There were tears on the wall! No...blood...no, wait, tears...well, I think there was blood and then tears.."). Sometimes it seemed like he was making stuff up on the spot. We did have a really good time trying to decipher his stories over dinner after the tour; it was hard to stop laughing long enough to place our orders.

For the record, we did not go into any candlelit houses, or brightly lit ones for that matter. We just took a little walk around Savannah at dusk. I'm sure the city is ripe with stories of cool ghost sightings, but we didn't hear about any of them on this tour.

“America's Most Haunted City Tour”

This tour was a disappointment. Even though Six Sense's literature says that by law they are only allowed to take 35 people at a time on a tour, there were at least 40 in our group. My tickets said to meet at Johnson Square at 9:30. We were there about 20 minutes early waiting in the large square. A guide for another tour approached us because he was checking off the names of people he had reservations for. At 9:30 I noticed a very large group about to leave the square. It turned out to be the tour I had reservations for. The guide, Chris, did not even check to see if everyone with reservations was there, nor did he have a sign or make an announcement that he was the guide for the America's Most Haunted City tour. We could have easily been left behind even though we were there 20 minutes early. The tour itself was very unbelievable. For example, Chris informed us that the way to scare off spirits was to eat a hard boiled egg or carry a coconut. I felt like he made up most of what he told us. The tour was advertised as a 2 hour walking tour. It actually lasted only 1 1/2 hours and that included about a 10 minute break at a convenience store. Chris told us he made a tape of a spirit answering questions. I think if that were true, Chris would have played the actual recording instead of just telling us about it. I was on another Savannah ghost tour several years ago that was much better than this one -- more believable and we actually went inside one of the haunted buildings instead of just standing outside hearing stories.

I have to completely agree with the review earlier about Adam as a tour guide. We were so excited to go on the Trip Advisor ranked #1 ghost tour, or so their flier says, but we were completely disappointed!! I wish that I would of read her review so I could of completely skipped it!!
The tour started out good, well the first 15 minutes was good, minus the excruciating humidity. When we stopped at the 432 House thats when things went down hill as well. The other reviewer was lucky we were there for over an hour!!!!!He kept trying to tell us that the Water Damage on the side of the building was actually satan taking over the house and that he had friends who have disappeared. I have to admit in the beginning I was a little scared, but later as we continued the tour I began to realize that every single story that he told had to do with a family member or close friend. I guess he was trying to make it believable but it just wasnt happening. By the end of the tour we couldnt wait to get out of there, his stories were very boring since no one has that many friends and family with paranormal. encounters. I definetly could of spend my 40 dollars else where. The Horse and Carriage driver that we had in the afternoon was more entertaining and more informative than this 2 hour bug infested walk!!! I definetly do not recommend it to anyone!!!!
