As a road warrior and frequent visitor to the Savannah area, I appreciate the newer hotels. My agent had booked me into Mid-Town which is an area I don't like and is farther from my work.

Right outside the airport are about a dozen brand new hotels. My usual, Holiday Inn and Hampton was both booked as well as the Hilton Garden Inn. So I tried the Four Points.

I was very surprised with the hotel. It opened in August 07. It still looks brand new and is very clean. The rooms are a little smaller than say Wingate, but are very nicely designed.

The king size bed was very comfortable and has the soft bedding that is all the rage. The 32" LCD has HD channels on the upper end. WiFi worked great and there is a Ethernet port next to the desk also.

You can set the climate control to always on fan if you like the white noise like I do unlike what another reviewer said.

They have a hot breakfast buffet which was included in my room rate, but is a charge if not in the rate. It was above average and had great service.

The front desk was very nice and accommodating.

I highly recommend staying here. The average room price is lower than other hotels nearby and you get a very nice stay for the money.

What a disappointment! We stayed at this hotel on our drive back from a Florida vacation and were pleased to find a dog-friendly location convenient to I-95. However, while the room was ok (comfy king-size bed and decent sitting area), our experience with room service was ***HORRIBLE.*** The menu guarantees 30 minute delivery but our food took close to an hour to arrive. Everything we ordered was just plain bad. We were given stale rolls instead of cornbread. A chef salad came complete with stale ham and turkey and rotten lettuce with green/black slime all over it. The beef stew was straight out of a can and luke warm at best. When I took the salad with the rotten lettuce back down to the kitchen, the chef's reply was "well hon, that's the way it comes... I just took it straight out of the bag." Unfortunately there are not many options for restaurants at this location, so if you're planning to stay here, figure out someplace else to eat.

For a recent weekend trip to Savannah, this hotel offered an advance nightly rate that was half of the best rate at hotels in the historic district. The amenities in my room were on par or better than what I'd have found in a room twice the price in the historic district, and the Four Points' proximity to I-95 and I-16 made it more convenient to Liberty Street than Gateway or Midtown hotels.

The Four Points Airport's pluses include the flat-screen TV with over 40 channels. This was one of the few hotels I've stayed in that has cable rather than satellite TV, which meant I could check local radar during The Weather Channel's "Local on the 8s" segments. That was a big plus one cloudy, wet morning by helping me time my drive into downtown Savannah during a break in the rain.

The microwave and refrigerator in my room allowed me to save money on breakfast by buying milk and cereal at a nearby supermarket. (A Wal-Mart Supercenter is located on the opposite side of I-95 from the hotel; Food Lion and Piggy Wiggly are located one exit south on I-95.) Alternatively, the room service menu listed cereal for $4.50 and a full breakfast for $8.50. The hotel also offers room service during the evening, but the dinner menu is primarily sandwiches priced at $6.50. Bags of microwave popcorn were available for purchase at the front desk.

The room's biggest drawback was noise. I could hear every sound in the hallway and, while I never heard a TV from an adjoining room, one night while lying in bed I heard a couple talking in the bed on the opposite side of the wall. Masking noise with the sound of a fan isn't an option because the heat-A/C unit is controlled by a wall thermostat that didn't have a "continuous fan" setting. About the only way to keep the unit running is to set the thermostat on a temperature that would be outside of the comfort range. Turning on the bathroom fan wasn't an option since it sounded as loud as what passengers must have endured in the cabin of a Ford Tri-Motor propellor plane.

Another minus it that the hotel only has one elevator, and it's verrrry slow. Fortunately, for those who don't mind a bit of exercise, there are two enclosed stairwells at either end of the hall. One morning I left the lobby, passed a guy holding a cup of coffee and waiting for the elevator, walked to the end of the hall and up the staircase, and came out of the third-floor stairwell just as the guy with coffee was getting off the elevator.

I'm a Starwood Preferred Guest member but didn't get an upgrade to a suite. A sign in the third-floor hallway designates that floor as the SPG floor, however.

This hotel is very close to the Airport, and only a short distance to Downtown Savannah. I stayed at this hotel while I attented two tapings of Paula Deen's show Paula's Party. Price was $80/night which was perfect, Although in retrospect I would of paid more for a nicer hotel. The hotel had an empty feeling to it, no charm or warmth. The frontdesk agents were clueless. My keycards got deactivated every single night,I had to go to the frontdesk every night to get my keycards activated again. I have gold status, and there were upgrades available however the frontdesk agent refused to upgrade me unless I used points. I tried to explain to her how the gold status worked but she had no idea what I was talking about. Pool was FREEZING, if you were to swim in the pool you'd sure to catch a cold. Room was small but bed was nice.
If I return to Savannah I will pass on this hotel and give some other hotels a try.

“Impressed with the Four Points”

Four Points by Sheraton Savannah Airport

Our flight got in late to Savannah, so we decided to stay close to the airport as opposed to trying to find a hotel or B&B downtown. I must admit, I'm not a fan of airport hotels, but was pleasantly surprised by the Four Points. It was recently constructed, clean and the decor was fresh and fun.

The room had a modern feel to it, they used bright colors, but did not overdo it. A huge flat screen TV was a plus, my husband really enjoyed that. We also had a fridge and microwave in our room. The bottled water was free, as was wireless internet. The bed was comfortable, with lots of different kinds of pillows.

We didn't eat breakfast at the Sheraton, but it sure smelled delicious.
