First off, why Tripadvisor rates this place with 3 stars is a mystery. It is, after all, a member of the toney "Select Registry" group of inns and B&Bs, all of which are luxurious and expensive. And the H-T Inn is certainly both luxurious and expensive, but on what was our 3rd trip to Savannah, we are glad we finally opened up the wallet and stayed there. You get all the trimmings at this historic and beautiful inn -- tea and delicious finger food in the early afternoon, wine and more goodies just before dinner, and some port before bed time, all consumed in the gorgeous parlor with art, fresh roses and people who can afford this kind of thing on a regular basis. Breakfast (stuffed French toast on our day) is served in an equally beautiful dining room with windows taller than Wilt Chamberlain and china most fine. Amazingly, amongst all this glamor the tone of this inn is remarkably unpretentious and the staff most helpful. The inn's location on Lafayette Sq could not be better, and if you get room 105 ($200+ for a Tues night stay) you have a private entrance that makes you feel like part of the local royalty. For a special stay in a special city, look no further.
