We travelled to the holiday inn Savannah from london (uk) for the St Patricks day parade. The rooms were arranged around a courtyard on a 2 storey building, similar to a motel, so was not really what i expected from a holiday inn. The check in staff were plesent enough and the hotel was fully booked. This is the first holiday inn that i have seen armed security at. During the stay Savannah was hit with a tornado and after the power came back on there was no TV or Internet/Phones for the rest of the stay (A further 2 days). Place was packed with college students who ran riot all night so was not able to get any sleep, management were not able to do anything about it, even with their armed guards.
Fixtues and fittings were dated and broken however the beds were nice and housekeeping did a good job. Hotel is a bit of a distance from anything other then Hunter Army air field. Overall it was a OKAY hotel. Expensive for what it is. I;m guessing if there is not a large party in town then it would be a lot quiter. Overall not a bad stay, but i would look elsewhere first rather then coming back directly to this hotel.
