I must admit I was a bit worried about staying here due to all
the negative reviews on this forum. We were in for a
nice surprise! Our room, (431) was in the back of the hotel on the
second floor. The outside of the building does need a refreshing
coat of paint. However, our room appeared to have been
redecorated fairly recently with new carpet, new furniture &
mirrors, new coverlet for the bed, etc. It was very clean and
fresh. The bathroom was extremely clean with lots of towels.
We enjoyed a complimentary hot buffet breakfast each morning.
It was good, not fantastic -- though very good coffee.
This was a very nice hotel. We would definitely stay there again.
Perhaps the negative reviews got back to Holiday Inn and
they made corrections.
Also, after driving for 6 hr. from northwest GA, the drive to the
Historic District was nothing! I enjoyed the drive with the moss
covered trees and the lovely old homes along the way.
We got this hotel through Hotwire for $59 and we felt it was
a very good deal. Give them a try.

First and Foremost I would like to thank you for your kind words. It brings me alot of pleasure to hear that all the hard work we are putting in is starting to pay off. I have been at this property since November and as you can see with other comments we are improving. I would like all future guests to know that it is our goal to make each and every guest feal like they are at home with family while they stay with us. As you can see from this response it seems like we hit our mark. I would also like to inform all our future guests that we are going through remodeling and staff changes to make our hotel even better.
