“Experience the old south”

Holiday Inn Hotel Historic District (Mulberry Inn)

This was our second trip to Savannah and stayed at the Mulberry both times. The first experience was so great that we didn't even consider another hotel. This trip was a celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. We were right down town and easy walking distance of Old Savannah. We were a block from one of the beautiful squares and enjoyed some time there. Our accomodations were extremely nice and the staff was most helpful. It was truly an "Old South Experience" and we will surely return. God willing - on our 75th wedding anniversay - hopefully before.

“Very nice stay!”

My fiancée and I had a two day getaway in Savannah. The Mulberry Inn was above my expectations. The property is convenient to the Riverwalk as well as a tour bus stops right at the front entrance. We stayed on the first floor on the Bay street side in room 153 and DID NOT have any issue with street noise. The two room suite had flat screen TVs in both rooms, comfortable sofa and king size bed, microwave, mini refrigerator, plenty of space and tastefully decorated. A nice size vanity and sink was located outside the bathroom which made it easy for both of us to get dressed without interrupting each other. My only complaint is... No wireless internet. I had to use the (old school) Data Jack on the desk in the living room. This meant I couldn't surf-the-net in bed. (my fiancée considers this a plus :-) ) I booked my room on the Mulberry website for $126.00 per nite plus taxes. Parking in the garage across Houston Street was free. I would definitely recommend the Mulberry to friends. It's not like other Holiday Inns I've stayed in.

“Don´t miss it!”

We loved it. Everything is great. The stuff is friendly and helpful. It´s location is very good: Close to all interesing locations but also very silent. We liked to swim in the pool and to work out in the evening.

They offer complementary afternoon tea with fresh fruits, sandwiches, cones and muffins from 4.00 - 6.00.

Most I liked the silent garden.

“Wonderful!!”

This is a smashing hotel in a great location. When we arrived we had requested "quiet rooms" but the rooms allocated didn't have a bath, only a shower. We prefer baths so the staff were quick to oblige and allocated two more rooms which were perfect. Just a little snag, they were close to the busy main road and we found it hard to sleep for the traffic. I guess it was our own choice though as we had moved from the original "quiet rooms". Next time, I will ask for rooms around the pool or at the back. Couldn't fault the staff and we agree with others - George is a wonderful asset - keep up the good work George!! The breakfast was good but it did get a little busy but folk do tend to turn up at the same time and you had to be a little patient. Afternoon tea was delightful with the most wonderful warm cookies. A great piano player accompanied tea, sandwiches and cakes and one day the lady from the tour desk got up and sang (fab!) Crunchy apples to be had from reception and even fluffy soft white towels awaiting for guests at the door when it rained. It's these little touches that make the stay special. Parking turned out to be free and unexpected. The pool area was great for an afternoon dip. One very teeny-weeny criticism was that we couldn't get a snack at 9.30 one evening as room service was closed. We managed with packets of crisps and chocolate from the snack machine but a sandwich would have been nicer. We'd love to visit this hotel and Savannah again as we had such a memorable stay. Thank you!

“Loved the Holiday Inn Mulberry!”

We just returned from a 7 day stay at the Holiday Inn Mulberry in Savannah, GA, and it was the most wonderful experience in lodging that we have ever had and we travel frequently. We flew instead of driving and from the minute we entered the Lobby, Every staff member was overly friendly, courteous, anxious to see to our needs, efficient, professional. We believe Windy & Staff( Hi Sue) wrote the manual on service & hospitality. Not once in 7 days were we not greeted by any staff member without a smile and kind words. The food was exceptional, the housekeeping was perfection, the landscaping, the pool, the courtyard were all maintained beautifully. We felt like we were in a dream staying at the Mulberry and the service would end any minute ( we have stayed at more expensive hotels and they were a 2 on a scale of 1-10) . I could write a book about each staff member that we watched doing their jobs, but I think I should say a little about the location. The Mulberry is located in the East area of the historical district, and a 5-10 minute walk to the Savannah River with all it's nice stores, restaurants, attractions.
The free shuttle (excellent service) can be accessed with a 3 minute walk across the street from the Mulberry. The free shuttle will take you anywhere within the Historical district and runs every 15 minutes. The Mulberry offers a "tea" every afternoon at 4:00 with small sandwiches, cookies, tea/lemonade/water. Always , wonderfully fresh coffee in the Lobby every morning. During the tea, there is always a very talented pianist( Hi EDDIE!)
entertaining the guests which is so relaxing after a busy day of site seeing. I wish I could mention every staff member, and how they contributed to our very needed vacation, but space is limited.
In Savannah, the historical tours are very informative, and be sure and see the 50's musical at the Savannah theater. These local performers are truly talented. What a pleasant way to spend 2 hours! I would be remiss if I didn't mention the drivers of the free shuttles/Dot & Cat shuttles. These drivers are so courteous , and they kept us in stitches while utilizing their services.
What is it about this City???? Do they know anything other than being friendly?? Did we somehow luck up and visit the "right" week?? The worst part of the trip was needing to leave..
Thanks! Mulberry & Savannah!!
