I visited Savannah to attend a conference located in the historic district and couldn't swing the cost of staying in a hotel in the immediate vicinity. I chose the SpringHill Suites because of its cost. I found it to be an excellent place for the money. It is new and clean with everything in great condition. Every staff member I talked to bent over backwards to be helpful. The free breakfast buffet had a few more options than the typical free breakfast. This didn't make any difference to me, but for those who are expecting separate rooms the suite is really one big room divided in to three separate sections - bedroom, kitchenette and living room - there is only a half wall between the bedroom and living room. The kitchenette has a little fridge, microwave and a sink. It is a half hour drive to the historical area. I noticed some reviews say it's 15 minutes - I drove this trip several times a day for several days and I never did it in less than 25 minutes due to traffic lights, traffic, etc.
