We spent a night. All was well for the price. About a 20 minute drive from downtown. Pleasant staff. The usual awful free breakfast. I didn't stay there to eat.

wonderful staff. stayed for 3 days in december. check-in was fast and welcoming, got to my room no problems at all. i rented a room with just a double bed in it as it was just me staying. the room was tucked behind elevator on second floor. at first i was hesitant, but found that it was actually very quiet and i enjoyed being away from main hallway. the room had long hall way in it that leads from the door back to the bathroom and room. it was small, but had two end tables, a bed, a dresser, a television, a desk with chair, and an comfortable upholstered chair in the corner by the window. coffeemaker, free wireless internet, and comfortable beds were my favorite. the bathroom is seperate from the vanity, which i always think is nice when there is more than one person staying. the vanity area had a small closet with iron, board, towels, washcloths, and hairdryer. nice for a no-frills brand like fairfield.
the next morning, i wanted to tell everyoe thanks for being so kind the night before (just in case i didn't see them again before i checked out) i met the general manager in the lobby (he's the young guy, very attractive and friendly--didn't expect him to be the boss) and i told him i was enjoying my stay. we got to talking about my daughter was moving to college at SCAD in Savannah, we had a large trailer with her belongings. because i was a marriott rewards member, the manager upgraded me to a jacuzzi room for no extra fee so that i could relax a little more. very thoughtful! the entire staff was friendly and accomodating like this. on the second day while i was away helping my daughter the hotel had been changing out all of the beds because there was a huge stack of mattresses outside and bags of old linen. the room i was upgraded to was marvelous, big jacuzzi in the corner of the room, mirrors surrounding it, big plush almost all white comfortable bed without an icky bedspread. lots of pillows, nice view of the lake out back. so relaxing! i was so thankful to the staff. i left a 20 tip to the housekeepers and left the gm some treats i picked up downtown.
all in all i expect to be back here when i visit my daughter at college. savannah is charming.
when in savannah, make sure that you take a trolley tour. eat at lady and son's restaurant. go listen to the live music at city market. sit on riverstreet and watch the people and river traffic, it is relaxing and entertaining.

Selected this hotel because of airport location, expected typical airport property because reservationists told me it was on airport grounds. pleasantly surprised--no plane noise, very wellkept area, nice staff, pleasant rooms.

good continental breakfast morning of departure, much more than just a couple apples and donuts, but still continental.

stayed here over night evactuating hurricane dennis. quite enjoyed my stay. comfortable beds, clean rooms, nice breakfast. great staff. nearby restaurant selections are limited but overall good location convenient to I-95, I-16, savannah historic district and airport.
