The good news: I played 9 holes here on a January (2008) late weekday afternoon for less than $13 (walking). The bad news: this course is in the middle of some serious heavy industry and is difficult to find. More good news: it is a fairly challenging 9-hole course in pretty good shape with a nice variety of holes, friendly staff, and decent facilities (but no range). It dates from 1937 when reportedly the owner of International Paper built it for his grandkids. IP still owns the course but it is now professionally managed. To get there, drive out West Bay St and exit right onto W. Lathrop Ave, look for the first major left turn which is Johnson Street and drive through the industry and over the RR tracks till you see the course. If you can, check Google Maps before you head out for an idea of where you'll be heading. If you're looking for luxurious Savannah golf, go elsewhere (eg, Savannah Harbor), but for perhaps the best 9-hole value in Georgia head to Mary Calder.
