The Fredericksburg Hospitality House is a older Hotel But its a very nice one. Check-In Was Great we were in and out within 5mins. Nice & Friendly people too. The Rooms were nice like any other hotel. We Were on the 3rd Floor Looking over the Garden/Pool Area. it was a wonderful view to look at in the morning. We stayed 2 nights and next time were in town we will be sure to stay there. We even joined their Frequent membership which actually gives u extra things for no cost at all.. Upgrade for no extra cost , Breakfast Buffet and if u stay 9nights you get your 10th for free. I dont know how there are so many terrible reviews for this place its like were talking about two different place.

Our family of 5 stopped there for 1 night on a trip back from Myrtle Beach. The lobby looked fine but that was it… The corridors were like a B movie thriller. There was a remaining cigarette smell even if the room was non-smoking. The bathroom suffered from deferred maintenance. The air conditioning unit was not sufficient. And finally, we heard all of our neighbours coming in and out and talking in the corridor and their room until midnight! Don’t go there.

When I first drove up I was thinking, "Hmmm, this seems nice!" My check-in experience was pleasant; however, as I began walking down the hall to my room, it was a nightmare getting to my room from the front & the halls smelled like animal urine. When I finally got into my room, I found that my non-smoking room was at one time SMOKING for sure! And it smelled really damp and moldy. When I tried to call to the front desk, the phone was not working & I had to trek all the way down to the front again (I'm telling you it's FAR) to tell them & they weren't able to get it fixed until after I would be gone. They asked me to use my cellphone to call them if I needed, which I thought was a pain, because my phone was roaming. I was not offered any discount, or even the buffett breakfast...pretty much nothing for my troubles. The only saving grace is that they DID have a foam temper-pedic mattress that was ultra comfy, but definately not worth the rest of my experience there!

The check-in process was marginal, in that at first they did not locate our reservation. I had a printout of my reservation to provide the clerk to prove I had a reservation. We were placed on the ground floor next to the parking lot. February in Virginia is cool to cold and it was about 32 degrees Fahrenheit that night. The beds were foam, not the standard mattress. One bed was soft and the second was like a rock. The thermostat in the room was broken and pumped hot air into the room. By morning it was 83 degrees in the room. Durng the night we opened the sliding glass door, but this was dangerous because we were right on the parking lot and anyone could enter the room. Plus there was tremendous noise from the local restaurants. We left the next morning more tired than we arrived the night before.
