Good stay for two days. A downtown, high-rise hotel is not our style but given the choices, this was fine. The area has few hotels on the edge of town, likely due to winter weather and likely isolation.

Positives: Large rooms, quiet, comfortable beds, microwave and mini-fridge in room, two TVs, separate seating area and desk with cable Internet access, good continental breakfast with waffles available, sausage and egg rounds for making a breakfast sandwich with English muffins is included. Pool, hot tub, exercise room, and laundry are available and maintained. Big Ray's sport store is across the street for outfitters' clothing is very well stocked. The Fairbanks Visitor Center is across the street the other way for local information. The walking tour of downtown is not really a highlight. University of Alaska Museum is spectacular if only for the view from the hilltop. Lavelle's Bistro on the ground floor is good but a bit trendy.

Negatives: Very little parking, heat and air conditioning must be turned on (the door on the heater with a key lock is unlocked), try to avoid the tours for breakfast - they fill the place but are gone quickly, pricy.

Stayed at Springhill Suites Fairbanks on Aug. 28 & 29, 2006. Very convenient location to visitors center and downtown. Front desk staff was very customer-service oriented. Front desk staff member, Cherie, and I met on the elevator. I inquired about hotel transportation to the airport the following morning for our Drive/Fly trip to the Arctic Circle. She asked me what time we needed a wake up call and said she would make arrangements for the transportation as well. Approximately, five minutes later when I returned to our room, she called on the phone to confirm the details. With as busy as the hotel was, I cannot believe that she was able to provide such personalized service. I definitely would stay at this facility again!

We spent two nights at the Fairbanks SpringHill Suites. The experience was pretty typical for SpringHill Suites, which is perfect for our family of four. Rooms were clean, breakfast was good, and the sight-seeing was great too!

This was one of the nicest hotel stay, not to mention the cost of having 5 people staying in one room and the great and wonderful free breakfast!!!

In general, a room in a regular hotel room only allows up to 4 people, but since Spring Hill is a suite, it allows up to 6 people. Buy not renting two room, it cut our hotel cost by half. $75/room per night is a deal no one could be and it is also centerally located.

The Springhill Suites was clean, quiet and pleasant. We really enjoyed the Breakfast that was provided (especially the waffles and strawberries). The staff was friendly and courteous. We would definitely stay there again.
