A business associate and myself stayed at the Springhill Suites in downtown Fairbanks in mid-June. I only have positive things to say. The location was nice...I actually had previously avoided downtown Fairbanks because parking can be a problem but it really wasn't and it was smack in the center of some nice shopping, restaurants, and a nice park right across the street. The room was great! Walking in, there is a little office nook to the right with a full size desk, swivel chair, internet connection, sink, counter and fridge. To the left is a couch and a chair, and a TV in the living area. Walk past that, you are in the bedroom area. The beds were absolute heaven. I just sank into them. Plentiful pillows and very comfortable mattresses. The bath was fantastic, large, the showerhead was nice and high, and the vanity area outside the bathroom was perfect with accessible electrical outlets and great lighting. The room was air conditioned (a must in the summer in Fairbanks, as temps were in the high 70's/low 80's the entire time). Housekeeping did a great job and the front desk was top notch. The hotel features an elevator that requires a key card to access, which I presume keeps the non-guests out but I never saw that as a problem. FYI, there is this unbelievable Thai Restaurant a couple blocks down between 4th and 5th- definitely recommend you try it!
