I had tried to find a "regular" hotel many months before our planned trip to Alaska and was shocked to discover that the better hotels were booked solid due to Princess, Holland America, and other tours. This led me on a search to find decent accommodations at a reasonable price in Fairbanks, which can be a challenge during peak tourist season.

My search included tripadvisor where I located Jo and Dale View Suites and was amazed by the great reviews. Well, Jo was very accommodating over the phone and kept in touch to assure that everything was going to be ready for our stay.

After a day on the train up from Denali, we rented a car and followed the concise directions to their place, which is out of town. The five of us were booked for the suite, which worked out great. The place was VERY clean and nicely decorated. Jo met us as soon as we arrived (after 10 PM - yes, it is still light out) and made sure we were well taken care of.

The breakfast quiche and fresh fruit was great (I just wish breakfast was available every day in the suite)! We needed to do a little laundry and Jo provided everything needed, as the washer and dryer were in the suite. When we returned, we found the wash either hung up or layed out on the bed. Great service!

Jo and Dale, thanks for a great three days in Fairbanks!

““Luxurious, romantic B&B in a beautiful area””

Dale and Jo View Suites

13 Jun 2008

My husband and I stayed at Dale and Jo View Suites this spring of 2008.

First of all, the Inn is absolutely beautiful. We stayed on the 3rd floor in the "Spa Room". The Suite was very spacious, with enough space for me and my husband to read, watch television or just enjoy the views of the Alaskan Range and Rivers without sound being an issue. The room was very quiet. The bathroom is very large and luxurious. It had a large walk-in shower that was big enough for two people (!) and a large soaking tub, also perfect for 2. The floor was heated, which made it very nice first thing in the morning. This may seem like a small thing to some, but one of the things about this Inn I loved the most was the clean water every time I took a bath. We have really bad water back home, and this was such a treat for me.

Breakfast was out of this world! I love how this Inn serves breakfast. The food was to die for and we loved being able to take it up to our room. We actually looked forward to breakfast each morning.

When we arrived, the innkeepers, Dale and Jo, gave us restaurant recommendations and some great ideas as to what we might enjoy doing in the area during our stay. Dale and Jo were great innkeepers! We left feeling very much like they are old friends.

We stayed at Jo's beautiful home bed and breakfast last Friday our last day of a 15 day vacation. We drove to Fairbanks from Denali and were too early to check in, but Jo being the wonderful host that she is still took time out of her cleaning and cooking to talk to us, check us in and show us around her gorgeous home. We were a party of four and had rented the ground level two bedroom with a kitchen suite. The amenities are more than you should or could expect from a B and B.

The only complaint we had is the water is extremely sulfuric smelling and tasting. She assured us when we arrived that the water is safe and treated which we believe, but we used to live in an area of Ohio called Sulfar Grove and know what it takes to get that smell and taste out of the water. It was very difficult to do. Due to the water smell and taste (it was in the shower water, really everywhere) we personally wouldn't stay there again. Jo did say the smell is worse sometimes during the year more than others, and this must be the time.

Jo was the most accomodating dear person, really we can't say enough nice things about her. Her food was gourmet, well presented and delivered with love. Thank you Jo for all your care. I'm sorry that I had to even mention the water.

This past winter we had a magical visit at Dale and Jo View Suites. This Inn surpasses any that we have stayed at in the past. Dale and Jo's attention to every detail is amazing. We arrived early to find Jo with a smile and a wonderful welcome. We had just stopped in to let her know we arrived and to see what recommendations she had for lunch. She pleasantly gave us recommendations and off we went. When we returned to check into our room, The Spa Room, was absolutely wonderful and enchanting with an amazing view from the expanse of windows over looking the rivers and mountain range.

The drive up to the Inn was an easy drive. The surrounding grounds might entice one to play on a toboggan or rent a pair of snow shoes to run about the property.

The breakfast's were just perfect. It was so nice to be able to choose from the menu before we arrived, then to find it waiting for us each morning. What we like best about this was we could have breakfast when we wanted it and not on some set schedule as you find with many B&B's and Inn's.

Jo answered our numerous questions about where to eat, where to rent ski's, where to snowmobile with patience and great advice.

As we returned at night it was with a sense of peace as you opened the door to find our room turned down for the evening and an incredibly comfortable bed and pillow to lay your head down for the night.

We are making plans to go back as soon as we can.

Just a note about amenities - the walk-in closet was a pleasant surprise. The bathroom is huge with plenty of storage and counter space. Not to mention the large soaking tub and several person shower. A nice surprise for a bed and breakfast.

Thank you Dale and Jo for a most memorable stay!

““This Inn is Exceptional!””

If you are looking to go somewhere for a special occasion, or just want to be "Treated Special", Dale and Jo View Suites is the place to go. From the minute you arrive you feel the warmth of this beautifully Inn. Jo met us both at our car, greeted us with a smile making us feel like we were visiting family. The inn is absolutely gorgeous and is extremely clean.

We stayed in the Spa Room for three nights. This is a beautifully appointed room with large windows looking out onto Mt. McKinley, The Alaskan Range and the Chena and Tanana Rivers. The king size select number bed, gave us the best nights sleep of any place we stayed during our trip. We loved the elegance and large size of the bathroom, with it's soaking tub and large jetted shower.

It would be impossible to over-exaggerate the quality of the breakfasts. This is no bread and yogurt kind of a place. We where emailed a list of breakfast choices when we made our reservation and it was so nice being able to choice what we wanted and not to be confined to one certain time of morning for breakfast.

The location is ideal. The Inn is very easy to find and only minutes from the airport and town yet you feel that your miles away from it all.

Jo worked tirelessly to ensure that our stay was spectacular. In fact, we worried a bit that she was going to wear herself out. But that is the kind of person she must be; she lives to make her guests comfortable and happy. Anything you want to do; anywhere you want to go; she will help you to arrange it.

We can't think of any reason why we would stay anywhere else when we come back to visit again. It is the nicest Inn we have ever stayed in. Thank you, Jo, You are a gem.
