So many good things have already been written about this Inn that adding anything new is seemingly impossible so apologies if this sounds like a re-hash of all that has gone before.
Our holiday in Alaska ended in Fairbanks. After having read so many wonderful reviews about this Inn we had saved it for the last few nights of our trip to Alaska. It was almost a year in the planning and we had high hopes for Dale and Jo View Suites. Having looked forward to it for a loooong time.
We arrived at the Inn at 10:00 pm after being on the road most of the day traveling from Anchorage. Jo greeted us at our car with a warm smile which made us feel very welcomed. More like we where visiting family, than meeting someone for the first time. We where helped with our baggage and taken up to our room, (The Spa Room).
We found this room to be larger than most, very clean, nicely appointed with all we could want for the next few days. The large soaking tub was heaven and the bed was divine and during our time there gave us the best sleep we have ever had. Good quality toiletries, chocolates on the bed added to the feel of a quality establishment.
Our breakfasts each morning was divine and we so loved being able to take it up to our room where we could enjoy the beauty of our surroundings. We always felt each morning more than a little full! Jo was a wealth of information and knowledge and went out of her way to help us plan places to go visit and what was good and not so good. Without her input we may not have found some of the very beautiful spots we visited.
We had a mixture of weather during our stay - temps in the low 50s followed by a mini-heatwave with temps in the upper 70s - but the freedom we had in the house, the hospitality, and our own lovely room meant that whatever the weather we were well provided for whenever we weren't out and about.
The Inn is perfectly situated on the side of a mountain on the West side of Fairbanks. The peace and quiet of our surroundings was almost deafening. Very close to the airport, art galleries, restaurants and to downtown. The views of the Alaskan Range and the Chena and Tanana Rivers is unobstructed and endless. This would be a perfect Inn to stay at if your interested in seeing the Northern Lights in the winter. In fact we are already working to make plans to go back in the winter to do just that. We where also impressed at how quiet the Inn is in the evenings and at night. During our stay the Inn was fully booked, but you would have thought we where the only ones there.
I can really only sum up by saying that this holiday is the best I've ever had and I would recommend this Inn without reservation and can not wait to return. The Inn felt like our home away from home and made our vacation time in Fairbanks absolutely fantastic.
Yes there are many choices of places to stay in Fairbanks, but I doubt few, if any, are as special as Dale and Jo View Suites.
