Stayed 5 nights at 7 Gables Inn in early Oct 2007. I'm not the type of person expecting some luxury facilities. My room was called Rainbow and everything was fine inside. WIFI in the building. Good location of the property. It was really convenient to have a community kitchen as well. Lastly, Liecha's breakfast was so great and delicious.

No doubt they offer an excellent value at their large property with many bedrooms. The room had comfortable furnishings. There were freshly baked cookies in the kitchen each day. The proprietress offered directions and suggestions eagerly. They are in close proximity to the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and downtown is fairly close by. A home-cooked breakfast was on the table at the appointed times. BUT...the bathrooms come with noisy fans that one can hear through the thin walls all night long. There was an undercurrent of impatience. Dishes went into the dishwasher as soon as one's last bite entered one's mouth so we had to listen to running water and the noisy running of the dishwasher all through breakfast. Coffee was weak and flavorless and we generally felt unwelcome, which makes one yearn for the anonymity of a hotel stay rather than a B&B. Always a possibility that the B&B proprietors had enough of the long summer tourist season... given the dark mood of the house. We sighed with relief when we left....

I highly recommend the Seven Gables Inn in Fairbanks, Alaska, for anyone who likes to be treated royally at an affordable price.

I stayed at the inn for two nights while on a business trip recently, and found the inn to be one of the best experiences I've ever had at any hotel or B&B in my extensive travels.

The owners of the inn go above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable. The common areas are cozy, the bedrooms are spotless and the atmosphere totally relaxing. And the gourmet breakfasts are simply divine.

The bed in my well-decorated room was so comfortable, that I had the best two night's sleep that I've had in years.

From now on, I will make every attempt to stay at Seven Gables Inn whenever I am in Fairbanks.

As with most places in Alaska during the summer, the cost was up from the rest of the year. However, the value received was good. The owners were very friendly and the room was more than adequate. We arrived at 1:30 am and they were there to meet and greet us. All 3 days that we stayed had different cooked breakfasts that were very good and served by a cheerful wait-staff (even at 7 am). The location was convenient to the airport and easy to find. We also found the location convenient to sites in Fairbanks and the surrounding area.

If/when we return to Fairbanks, we will plan to stay at 7 Gables again.
