“The Perfect Lodge Experience”

A Taste of Alaska Lodge

This property is the perfect spot to use for a homebase while in Fairbanks,Alaska. The family owners/operators are friendly and helpful, and the accommodations are comfortable, roomy and beckon you to sit back and enjoy the Alaskan experience. We stayed in the two story log home which had two bedrooms, hot tub, full kitchen, large living room, deck and magnificent panoramic view of the Alaskan Range. The main lodge's dining room is filled with antiques and collectibles, and a full breakfast is offered as part of the nitely rate. Located just 15 minutes from Fairbanks, the lodge is located on 280 acres of fields and woodlands. We stayed there in mid-June, 2008 and will recommend the lodge to all of our traveling friends. This would be the place to stay if you are anticipating views of the Northern Lights in the winter.

It was a very laid back check-in, beautiful room, I had the family room in the upper lodge. The artifacts in the room and throughout the entire lodge, were very interesting and I always found something new to look at. Our view showed the Alaskan pipeline and the valley that Fairbanks sits in. The flowers were blooming although they were coming to the end. The breakfast was an event with lots of conversation with others.

This is a great way to enjoy your stay in Alaska.
the B&B is in the midst of an estate,
you'll love staying here
we liked the accommodations - we stayed in the main house in room 6
the main dining room can be a little overwhelming the first time you see it - it's filled with curious and antiques and relics from the past and with three life-size mannequins that took us by total surprise.
but, once you get used to it, you'll realize that the views from there are truly breath taking.
the rooms are nice, the beds comfy and the bathrooms and linens clean, fresh and good quality.
the owner Debbie is friendly and sweet and her assistant Tucker is also a nice guy.
We saw some good auroras.
a great place to stay!

“Very charming cabin”

We stayed in the Log House. It was wonderful. The kitchen was bigger than I have at home. The delivered breakfasts were wonderful.

We played in the snow each evening waiting for the Northern Lights. The son of the couple who owns the inn was kind enough to call one night and wake us up when he spotted them.

If you're lucky, you will get frequent visits from Cooper, the beautiful dog, who will scratch at your door for treats. There is a jar of doggie treats on the kitchen counter.

We spent three nights over Thanksgiving in the Log House at the taste of Alaska Lodge Lodge. The facility could not have been nicer or more cozy. It is roughly 30 minutes from the airport, and easy to find in good weather. In bad weather it might take a little more time. It is out of town and away from light pollution though there is clearly light in the distance. It is not enough to distract.

Cory (son of the owners) kept the refrigerator stocked with food, juice and snacks, and the cabin lacked for nothing. In spite of -20 degree temperatures, the hand built cabin was warm and snug. The window facing their glen provided a limited view of the Auroras, but to really observe them you need to hike out into the field and face the cabin.

Cooper, the resident dog, visited regularly and came along when we hiked the property Thanksgiving morning. It's a great property, and the views are spectacular.

There is a master bedroom downstairs, as well as the second bedroom with twin beds. There is also an indoor jacuzzi downstairs, plus a sink and a second half bath. The oil heater sits at the base of the stairs and kept the cabin cozy around the clock.

There is an extension cord to plug into your car block heater overnight.

Highly recommended for a quiet, authentic getaway in the unique landscape of remote Alaska. it's close enough to town to get what you need, but far enough away to see the sky fully. And the hosts are just splendid people.

They provide wireless internet access so you can fire up and work in a hand built cabin, in -20 degree weather with no other homes or people in sight - if that suits you.

Very mellow, very well done.
