Marnie and Lambert run a top notch B&B way up in Fairbanks! FIrst, Lambert was VERY accommodating of our last minute plans and set it up so we could come in very last minute AND arrive past midnight! Our late arrival was seamless and we were able to get the keys and head straight to our rooms. We were two couples, and they set us up in two rooms that faced each other upstairs in the second house. One of the most important things I was looking for when I was looking for a hotel was a Wi-Fi connection. They had one and it worked perfectly. It was nice to be able to get online while I was in bed and it was snowing outside. The rooms were very cozy and had everything we needed to be comfortable. It's a lot of fun to go down into the main house for a wonderful home cooked breakfast each morning and Marnie and Lambert (the owners) are great company. Marnie makes great meals and Lambert is very enthusiastic about Fairbanks and has great suggestions about many things to do. We went to Fairbanks specifically to see the Aurora Borealis and it did not disappoint. Lambert suggested some excellent viewing spots and we sure received a spectacular show. You can walk right into town from the B&B and we were able to go to some nice restaurants and walk around town right out the door. You should definitely get a car though, if you wish to drive up to the Chena Hotsprings, go to Fox (where the excellent Silver Gulch microbrewery and restaurant is located, which has excellent food and beer), and to go to various semi-remote (but pretty close by) spots to view the Aurora. You also should have one to drive out to see the Alaska Pipeline, and to the university to see the excellent museum. Everything Lambert suggested to us was definitely worthwhile seeing. We had an excellent experience at the Minnie Street B&B and would not hesitate to both suggest it to others and return there again ourselves. - Gary ;-)
