While not located in a really 'scenic' part of town, Best Western Fairbanks was a good choice for us. We stayed 2 nights.
We got a decent meal at a good price at Felix's (located in the building) and the Hot Licks handmade icecream (also in building) was a fun treat. :)
The rooms were clean and well-stocked. There was LOTS of traffic - this was a busy hotel - but the staff managed to take care of us nicely at the front desk. We had a street-side 1st floor room but there was very little road noise and most guest noise subsided at 10pm so we slept well.
One BIG plus: handicap access! One of our group has mild palsy and found the handicap rooms very accessible and bathrooms easy to use. That puts my review at 'above average' since this courtesy isn't often available. Otherwise it's not fancy but it has most everything you will need. Prices for rooms in Fairbanks are a bit high so it may not be as luxurious as the price may suggest but it makes up for 'charm' with perfect utility.
