If you are looking for a serene and scenic B&B, you must check out the Ridgeview owned and operated by Jeff and Linda Manns. This new B&B has a spectacular view overlooking the city of Fairbanks.

There are three guest rooms that have been put together with lots of attention to detail. From the beautiful linens to the mountains of pillows to your own full private bath. The rooms have a very classy feel. The room that I stayed in had a window nook where you could read or just gaze out and enjoy the view. In addition to the three rooms, there is a spacious guest lounging area with books, magazines and coffee or cold breakfast fixings incase you do not have time for a hot meal upstairs.

Linda goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. She is a fabulous cook and being a lifelong alaskan, offers many stories. Her warm and friendly smile makes you feel right at home.

A Ridgeview Bed & Breakfast is a cedar house/B&B located on Chena ridge, to the southeast of Fairbanks, AK. The rustic location accents the strongest attribute of this B&B: peaceful. Chena ridge is well away from the noise and traffic of the main highway and the city of Fairbanks, yet it is less than a 10 minute drive out. The B&B is located in a birch forest, but being on the side of the ridge it offers a splendid view of Fairbanks. There is abundant wildlife in the area and possible of seeing the northern lights, since it is far enough away from the downtown lights.

The hostess, Linda, was fantastic! She is a very friendly and sweet person, and she went to every effort to accommodate and make sure the stay went well. She adjusted breakfast time to match my schedule, and made sure. There are only 3 bedrooms available, but this allows Linda to give extra personal attention to guests - she treats everyone like part of the family.

This is a new B&B and it was specifically built to be a B&B. As such, it has some "extras" built in that many other B&B's don't have, such as: full private bathrooms for each room, extra soundproofing in the walls/floors/ceilings, and a guest sitting & snack area, including a small refrigerator. Construction was only completed in 2007, so everything is very new, clean and spotless. The house is best described as luxurious, with quality bedding, carpet, fixtures, etc. that are better than any name-brand, high-dollar hotels that I have stayed in while traveling for work. Linda's personal touches include exclusive complimentary hygiene products (versus the bulk-rate ones that most other places offer), excellent gourmet cooking, and spotless housekeeping.

If you are looking for 5-star caliber accommodations in a very quiet, rustic location, where you can relax and enjoy the experience, then this is the B&B for you. Overall, the best B&B I have stayed in!
