Some may think its just a bridge - but there is something special about taking a stroll over Brooklyn bridge.

Take the subway to brooklyn and then walk back over to Manhattan and take in some great views of the skyline.

There is a designated walkway above the road level for pedestrians and cyclists. On a cold day it can be very cold but when we went in September, it was a lovely clear sunny day and the views were spectacular.

We want back on a night tour too and it was even better!!! I would not miss out on the sights from Brooklyn bridge on a trip to NY

When we asked ourselves what the highlight of our week-long New York visit was, my husband and I both voted for the walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. We went in the morning, around 9am, by taking the A or C blue line subway to the first stop in Brooklyn. From there the path to the foot of the bridge was well marked. It was not crowded, the weather and breeze were pleasant (early AM in July), and the views were remarkable! We offered to take another couple's photo, then they returned the favor for us. Everyone was very friendly and the entire experience was GREAT.
When you exit the bridge in New York you are near South Street Seaport. We had perfect timing to get in line for the 11am opening of the TKTS half-price ticket booth that is there.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a marvelous experience for all ages. The pedestrian walkway starts on Adams Street, which is just a 5 minute walk north, (if that), from the Jay Street/Borough Hall subway station. We were there on a weekend morning, and the area in my opinion, is 100% safe. The grade is easy, and one can go at a leisurely pace.

There are plenty of benches along the walkway to rest, to just sit and enjoy spectacular views. This is a great attraction to enjoy while in NY.
