When traveling to New York last month, I was booked at this hotel but actually never got t stay in the hotel because despite my advance booking and confirmation there was no room at the Inn.
I am not sure but this could have been a blessing in disguise. This is definitely not the average hotel. To begin with it was a little strange being located directly across the street from the city jail in Brooklyn. When my cab dropped me off, I walked in and there was no traditional 'Front desk' area. A man was standing in a seating type area with his laptop computer on top of the counter checking folks into their rooms. The gentleman informed me that there were no rooms and he began to search for me alternative accommodations.
While he searched for me a complimentary room at another location the bartender offered me a soft drink.
Long story short, I was moved to a Holiday Inn Express in Brooklyn and This hotel covered my room as well as transportation to and from this hotel.
I don't plan to give this hotel another chance but I would say if you are planning on staying in Brooklyn, there are now several new hotels in the area where they are building the new Basketball arena. You have options and they do not have to include this hotel.
