Was looking for a simple, clean, no frills bed for the night in NYC and didnt want to pay Manhattan rates. Priceline came back with this place in Brooklyn... not my first choise, but whatwas I expecting for $149. Not to rehash what has already been said already, yep, the location is definetly sketchy and that is said from a guy who lived in Hells Kitchen for 5 years. I wouldnt go for a nightime stroll much past 11 unless you're looking to try out your new kevlar vest.... Aside from that, where else in NYC can you park in front of the hotel for free on the street. The staff was great. I think they must recruit staff from outside of Manhattan and with no prior hotel experience because they certainly didnt have the "your bothering me attitude" so prevelant in NYC hotels. Rebbeca and Steve and I think Teresa? (sorry) were great! Very professional. The room was typical for a Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express.. Nothing to write home about but it was clean and for NYC.. it was decent size. Perfect for a nights sleep. Yep, the walls are paper thin and if you're a late sleeper then expect the beep of the waffle maker to awake you... and please, "spray the waffle maker" or expect to be scollded by a nice lady who runs the breakfast counter... So aside from the location.. it was a good value for the money.. If your expecting the Plaza.. then look for a 5 star and expect to pay $750.. it is what it is.

Overall, I enjoyed my four days stay in the hotel. Except that there are nearly no parking space. If you can't find a parking spot behind the hotel, you can park your car on the street which is FREE. But watchout for the street rules, I got a $45 ticket parking on the street because of street cleaning. Just remember not to park your car on the street after 11am. Front desk staff are nice and helpful. In terms of safety in the area, I didn't encouter any problem but i guess if you didn't drive and are taking the subway, just avoid walking alone in the dark. But if you are driving, then it shouldn't be a problem. The room is small but just enough for two people, bath tub contains stain and hair in it. But at this price range for a room in nyc, I didn't really expect a high quality room.

“New Hotel - New experiences....”

Comfort Inn Brooklyn - Butler St

I had come up to hang with one of my friends (now girlfriend) and I stayed at the comfort Inn on Butler st. The photos revealed what I expected, clean rooms, continental breakfast, and friendly service. I didn't expect it to be in the middle of an industrial area. Ok for me cause I just slept there for two nights and spent the whole of two days in the city roaming. If you dont mind the area and a bit of walking, then this is a bet. Oh one note.. king beds make the room extra small... watch your feet!! lol!

“Very good!”

We booked this hotel because we wanted to have nice hotel standard and pay a decent price for it. Comfort Inn Brooklyn Bridge sure served us very well on these areas.

Hotel was close enaugh to Pacific St. and Atlantic Ave Subway stations so you could easily carry all the shopping bags with you.

FREE Continental breakfast was a good start for the day and staff were very service minded and helpfull when asked some questions about the area and getting from point a to b.

Rooms were great and confortable, nice big tv, FREE INTERNET, towels, big bathroom and AC.

It took maybe 45 minutes to Brooklyn Bridge, although we walked pretty slowly and took many pictures. Awsome views!

Absolutely recommed this hotel to everyone who has legs and don't mind the walk to the subway (7-10 mins). Great place to start NYC adventure.

We found the staff very friendly and accommodating, however, we were placed in a room next to the lobby and the ice maker. The noise was unbelievable as there was obviously very little insulation in the walls or around the door. We could hear every conversation of every person who checked in and the water filling the ice maker sounded like a stream in our room. Each time the ice dropped into the bin there was a loud crashing sound. The ice maker sounded like it was in our room. I have never slept in such noisy conditions before. The room was quite small, but very clean and everything was new. The price of the room was very reasonable for NY and the breakfast was fine especially where it was included in the price of the room. The neighborhood was mostly boarded up warehouses with graffiti. We had a car so did not need to walk, but I would not have enjoyed walking around the area in the daytime or at night. As I said in the beginning, the staff was very nice, helpful and when we complained about the noise they were sympathetic and adjusted our rate as they said they knew that room was a problem. If you are looking for a bargain with friendly service, new facilities, clean accommodations and don't mind the unattractive location I would recommend this hotel. Just be sure and ask for a room on the second floor or higher.
