Was looking for a simple, clean, no frills bed for the night in NYC and didnt want to pay Manhattan rates. Priceline came back with this place in Brooklyn... not my first choise, but whatwas I expecting for $149. Not to rehash what has already been said already, yep, the location is definetly sketchy and that is said from a guy who lived in Hells Kitchen for 5 years. I wouldnt go for a nightime stroll much past 11 unless you're looking to try out your new kevlar vest.... Aside from that, where else in NYC can you park in front of the hotel for free on the street. The staff was great. I think they must recruit staff from outside of Manhattan and with no prior hotel experience because they certainly didnt have the "your bothering me attitude" so prevelant in NYC hotels. Rebbeca and Steve and I think Teresa? (sorry) were great! Very professional. The room was typical for a Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express.. Nothing to write home about but it was clean and for NYC.. it was decent size. Perfect for a nights sleep. Yep, the walls are paper thin and if you're a late sleeper then expect the beep of the waffle maker to awake you... and please, "spray the waffle maker" or expect to be scollded by a nice lady who runs the breakfast counter... So aside from the location.. it was a good value for the money.. If your expecting the Plaza.. then look for a 5 star and expect to pay $750.. it is what it is.
