Pros: Dinners were good and afternoon tea was enjoyable with home-baked goodies. Owners are organzied about getting people where they need to be when they need to be there. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Setting is lovely.
Cons: Breakfast is very plain, not what I'd expect from a B&B in this price range. (Scrambled eggs with no herbs or anything to make them other than diner-style plain, bacon). Bag lunch was very plain (ham sandwich on plain bread, bag of chips, candy bar) and quite random. Even things that would be easy to let people choose were not choices - eg. an apple or orange, diet or regular soda - you just got a random bag.
I would not consider the hostess as a "people person." For example, when she said, "You could take a cab" and a guest asked "How much would that be?" her standard reply was, "I haven't the faintest idea." If I were running an inn I'd make it my business to have some idea! She got quite annoyed at a "high maintenance" guest (though not to her face.)
The complimentary bicycles were rusty old clunkers with no gears, seat height adjustment not working, chain came off about once a mile. When we mentioned the bike could use some work before someone else had the same unpleasant experience there was no apology.
Pro or con as you take it: This is not the sort of B&B where the owners like to chat with the guests, ask how their day was, make individual suggestions of activities based on their interests. If you like the more privacy oriented style of B&B this wouldn't be a con for you. If you enjoy social interaction with your hosts (maybe you're curious about what it's like to live in a place where you have to get on a plane to go grocery shopping?) it could be.
