I did a lot of homework in planning for a photograph tour of the upper canyon. I sent an email to try to reserve a spot, but one of the agencies told me I did not need to - don't believe that - especially in June-Aug. We got here in Page, Az with no reservations, and tried to book a tour with Ekis group - it was late, but they were very rude. We called up Tsosie, and they had enough spaces, plus they were very polite. Their staff were multi-lingual, and VERY informative.
We greatly enjoyed the tour by Milo - he is a good photographer (spend some time to see his pictures), and he was the only guide that we saw that took us back and forth the canyon so that we ALWAYS had the best possible light. There are hundreds of people going through the canyon daily, but Milo would stop people from getting in your shot, but he would also move us around so that we would not interfere with the other groups. He helped some of us with our shots - he understands digital and film photography as well as how the cameras work. Other guides were not as well informed. He was always very polite, funny, and never stopped moving back and forth to check on the cloud cover to find out where the best light would be so that we would not miss any shot that would be available for the day. On top of all of that, they are the only tour that plays the flute inside the canyon - which is something that should not be missed. As far as I know, all of the tours charge the same for the tours, so if you are going on a Photography Tour - take Chief Tsosie and ask for Milo if you want the best value for your $
