“Worth the money”

Ramada Inn Gatlinburg

26 Oct 2007

This is the second time we have stayed on the Ramada. We stayed in November 2006 and again in October, 2007. The first time we chose for the location. My dad has lung cancer and we booked a room overlooking the parkway so he could enjoy the sights since he is unable to walk the parkway. The second time we chose because they are a pet friendly hotel. They have a very reasonable rate for pets ($10 per day, some charge $20/$25). Most hotels in Gatlinburg are older and there is only so much you can do without tearing down and rebuilding and I feel Ramada has done good with what they have to work with. Both times we stayed in the front building. The carpets look newer but maroon is a poor choice because it shows every little thing. Under the beds was not vaccumed, but probably most hotels don't do this ever time. The hotel seems to have been recently updated. There is good water pressure. The location cannot be beat. Right on the parkway, pretty much in the middle of everything. The staff is really friendly and helpful

“A pleasant surprise”

My husband and I had an overnight stay at this hotel. After reading the reviews on tripadvisor I was a bit unsure of what we would find. Fourtunatly for us we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is located directly on the main street in Gatlinburg and the hotel has been Remodeled. It was still a bit dated with bathroom fixtures etc. But the location really made up for that. We were able to walk everywhere. When we next plan our vacation we will certainly try to stay here.

My husband, granddaughter, son, daughter-in-law and myself spent 4 nights at the Ramada in Gatlinburg. Very clean. Staff always courteous and helpful. We have stayed here several times, and have stayed other places that weren't so nice, we will continue to stay here, the inside pool was clean and we enjoyed it late at night. The aquarium is awesome and don't agree with the person that said it was not nice. We have seen the aquarium 7 times and it is great. My cousin lives in Fla. and she visited the Atlanta aquarium and she said Gatlinburg aquarium is much nicer. She was totally disappointed with Atlanta.I have heard a lot of the fancy motels are not that nice.Ramada is right downtown and we love it's location. We hated toi leave to come home.

“bad reviews are wrong!”

Ramada Inn Gatlinburg

12 Aug 2007

We stayed in two other hotels in area and were happiest with this one.The maids had just cleaned giving it a nice citrus smell, carpet was really clean(my two year old was all over it without getting dirty knees)which is hard to come by.Great central location for the money.Lovely room. The only things that could use some work are the pool and they should use a nicer place for there continental breakfast. But all in all,we will deffinately stay here again.

“Beware of anything owned by the REAGAN'S”

Ramada Inn Gatlinburg

This place is horrible. We read the reviews thinking that maybe most posters were used to upscale hotels and were just picking at this place. We were WRONG! The pictures on the brochure and website must be old. This place is a DUMP! The outdoor pool is all spotted on the bottom. Looks like algea, but not sure what it is. We felt the water and our hands felt oily afterwards. We decided to give the indoor pool a try since we have 2 kids and they are only on vacation to swim. I tried to read a book while my husband and kids swam, but the indoor pool inclosure was leaking so badly, that was impossible to do. This is supposed to be the NEWER area of the hotel. The water was freezing. We kept smelling this odd odor. When we got back to the room our swimsuits and towels smelled like smelly feet. No kidding! NASTY! The next day after the swimsuits had dried, the smell was even worse. The rooms were so dirty that our feet were completely black like we had been walking on blacktop all day long. After dinner we walked back through the indoor pool area. Thank goodness noone wanted to swim because there were no working lights in pool. Very dark. Beds were clean and comfortable, only positive thing here. The breakfast they offered was a joke. You have to walk next door to this little shack and they ungraciously serve you. You have to ask for either biscuit and gravy or a danish. They brought 4 danishes to the table still in their wrapper. You don't get to choose what flavor of danish you want, hope you like what they serve you! They have heated it in the wrapper in the microwave and they aren't taking it back. It was like intruding in someones restaurant. Don't know if they are part of this hotel or not, but they don't really want you there. Don't worry, we won't be back! Needless to say, we checked out the next day. As I was going to get the cart for our luggage, I passed 2 maintenance men in the hall using the carts to carry gross, rusty air conditioners on them. So we had to make a couple of trips to the car. No big deal though. We were just happy to get OUT! We are not spoiled, we normally stay in Ramadas, Days Inn, etc. This place is HORRIBLE. Take these reviews seriously.
