“Wonderful Visit”

Ramada Inn Gatlinburg

3 Jul 2008

We were reluctant to stay here based on the reviews but decided to try it anyway. We were glad we did! Our room was in the newer part at the end of the fourth floor. It was very roomy and had a balcony. Our room was very clean when we checked in and was cleaned daily. We'd leave to go have breakfast mid morning and it was finished by the time we returned.

In the evening we went down to the front patio area overlooking the street to sit and watch the people passing by and listen to the street entertainers.

We would definitely return.

“Awful Experience”

Ramada Inn Gatlinburg

My family went to Gatlinburg for my nephew's wedding and I had to bring my dog so we chose the Ramada since it was pet friendly, located downtown, and had an indoor heated pool. Our rooms were in the 4 story building in the very back and even though the rooms were just ok, the rest was awful. The elevator only worked part of the time and it had a very horrible smell and when it started up, you could hear water running from somwhere. The indoor heated pool was not heated and the celing leaked in that area and the lighting was terrible. The hotel also has a restaurant and lounge and on our last night there they had a band come in and you could hear the music in our room as if there were no walls separating us. They played until 1AM. The parking that night was terrible too, the hotel does not have enough parking to accomodate the hotel guests, the customers going to the restaurant and crowd the band attracted and the man at the front desk told us it was first come first serve for the parking, so my brother had to park in an area we thought was owned by the hotel, needless to say it was not and he was towed as were others. Sad thing is, I read the bad reviews and thought they must be wrong, but they were not. If you have to stay at this Ramada, make sure you stay as close to the office as possible and once you find a parking space don't move your car until you are ready to leave for home. I wouldn't stay at this Ramada again if they gave me the rooms for free.

All the bad reviews I read before going, were true. Every single one of them. I first thought just negative people writing, but no, truly a horrible place.
The rooms where we stayed were in the back, you had to drive around to get to them, looked like another old hotel they added to the Ramada. (first clue we should of ran) The elevator was honestly the grossest thing I had ever seen, mildewed, mold growing in the top part of it, peeling "stuff" on the side of it, it was so bad when we got in, we held our noses. No joke!!! this part of the hotel reminded me of a place where you homeless people hanging out in movies, and security forget it, someone could easily walk right in and grab you in the nasty stairwell to the pool.
Which that was the reason we booked in the first place, a heated indoor pool, well indoor yes, heated no, we had to complain for them to get it fixed, so by the last night we stayed it was finally warm, but the area around the pool was gross, the roof was leaking and the smell was of mildew/mold/and over powering chlorine, awful.
If this isn't enough for you, and you still reserve a room here, ask the hotel staff about the towing that goes on behind the building. I am sure they will nothing of the sort and that is bs. They allowed non paying customers to park in the lot, so we had to park in another spot, that we thought was still the Ramada, come to find out, it is the churches parking lot and we got towed.
The hotel called us at 1:00 in the morning to give us a "curtesy call" that we were being towed. $85 later we get the car back, this scam is going on by the hotel, the church and the towing company. Beware!!!!!!
Ramada Inn should be ashamed to have their name on this establishment and allow the things that go on!!!! I will never stay at this or any other Ramada Inn ever!!!!
Believe these reviews, they are true, I had read one about the tv's sitting in the lobby broken down, didn't believe it, and sure enough we get in the lobby and there sits 8-9 tv's right in the front lobby. what a joke.
If you enjoy wasting money and love the smell mildew and funk, this is your place.

“Freaking DUMP!!!”

Ramada Inn Gatlinburg

Young adults who are just look for a place to crash or throw up which ever comes first might be happy here, more seasoned travelers should beware. Nothing in the place worked like the heated pool, AC or elevator most of the time. I can sum this place up in one word, DUMP!

My mom and I go to Gatlinburg every year and this is the first time we have stayed at the Ramada. It was very reasonably priced for the location and room type. We had 2 double beds near the rear of inn. It could use some updating but it was clean. We were able to walk all over downtown. We love to people watch and plenty of chairs are provided on the main strip so you can watch the foot traffic. I would stay here again.
