I don´t understand the good reviews. We had room 106 and there was really ugly. Stinky, old with cuts from a knifein the matress, old carpets, old curtains and linen. Please stay away.
Around the pool, a lot of cigarettes from weeks(!) before.

We were looking for a clean but inexpensive hotel. We were expecting the average hotel, but were pleasantly surprised with the room! It was very spacious and very clean. It is an older hotel but has been kept in good condition! The breakfast is your average continental breakfast, but everything was at least fresh. We will plan to stay there again!!
After having searched the web extensively, we decided that this motel (and one other location I can't remember) were going to be the only last-minute, affordable options for this spur-of-the-moment fall foliage getaway . I was hesitant to reserve at a Rodeway Inn as it is a more budget-oriented chain. However, I was pleasantly surprised.
While the lobby is exceptionally small and the staff only moderately friendly, the room was large, clean, and well-appointed. Loved the balcony, room design (a little unconventional), and location. The decor was nice, and we even had a little microwave and mini-fridge. It's within walking distance to the strip if you're in fairly good shape and don't mind the uphill return.
Only two complaints - the bathroom was very small, and I found the mattresses uncomfortable. However, I am aware that the mattress assessment is personal to me and that others may find them more than adequate.
Overall, I feel I can recommend the place even though I will probably try another location should I ever return to the area due to my issue with the beds.
This hotel is great for the price. I really enjoyed my stay. We stayed 2 nights January 12-13, 2006 but had a late check in on the first night. We didn't get there til about 12 midnight and check in went smooth. The fireplace in the room was gas but still nice. The room was large with 2 queen beds, 2 chairs and a table and clean. I was very impressed with this room. I didn't go down for breakfast; however my boyfriend said it was small with muffins, coffee and juice. The hotel is close to all the Ripley attractions, walking distance. I read the other reviews before booking this hotel and most of them were correct. You do have to walk up a step hill to get to your room but in my opinion that's better than stairs. Overall this is a great place to stay and I would stay here again.
Our family stayed here for (3) nights at the end of Oct. 2006. Having received an excellent deal from a local bargainville station, we paid $60 for the 3 nights plus tax. Total $93.00
We stayed in one of the APARTMENT rooms which consists of 2 bedrooms (1king, 2 doubles), 1 bathroom, a full kitchen, living area and dining table. There is a TV in the living area and another in the room with 2 double beds.
We had a ton of space for 2 adults, 2 teens. Except for the bathroom which is very, very small with no counter space. The room was clearly dated and the appliances were worn, as was the carpet and furnishings. The bathroom was as clean as the housekeeping could get it I suppose since it to has old fixtures.
But it was clean enough if you consider the great deals you can find with pricing. The hotel is located just off red light #3 in town, and does allow for walking to most of the Gatlinburg attractions if you are of average fitness. HOWEVER.......the walk back to the room is almost entirely UPHILL. A steep uphill incline at that. I clearly toned some muscle and lost a few pounds during our trip!!!
The pool was closed and covered for the year during our trip so I can't comment there.
The continental b'fast is very small and seating is limited to 3 small tables in the lobby. The offerings were bagles, muffins, coffee and juices.
We probably would stay here again if it were a budget trip.
