We have just returned home from a 10 day tour of the Smokey Mountian Area that included 2 days at the Terrace on the Water Inn. The place is charming, it's clean and the guys are always looking for ways to improve the property. If you are looking for the Hyatt or another anticeptic chain experiance, do not go here. This is classic example of an inn from the 30's (the cabins) or the 70's (the 10 room hotel wing) with hosts who actually care that you have a good time and enjoy your stay. If that sounds like what you are looking for - you have found the right place. The stuff I loved...super soft and snowy white towels, comfortable beds, a fridge that actually keep cold drinks cold, the thoughtfulness of out hosts to provide a blanket for our 4 legged daughter to sleep on, the closeness to town so we didn't have to use the car and the pristine pool perfect to cool off from the record heat. Thanks Guys for a lovely way to end out stay in the area, and for giiving us such a great and welcoming place to bring LeeLou :) We'll be back!

My husband and I returned today from Gatlinburg after staying at the Terrace Inn on the River. We enjoyed our stay very much, including the balcony over the stream, the cleanliness and size of the room and the overall "southern hospitality" of the owners and staff. Each time we entered or left the property we received a friendly smile and wave. We also appreciated having "our own" parking space as each room has its own reserved space. We made a special request during our stay and received what we asked for in less than 5 minutes. The setting is very peaceful and nothing can compare to the sound of the stream right outside your room. This Inn is within walking distance of "the strip" in Gatlinburg so you don't have to worry about finding a place to park. I originally made our reservations online, but due to my husband being called the next morning to attend a meeting the week we were going, I had to call directly to see about changing our reservations. The person I talked to was most helpful and made the change very quickly to accommodate our needs. We have travelled to Gatlinburg 2 - 3 times a year for the past several years and have stayed in most of the motels. We agree that this Inn is one of the best we have stayed in and we will be back!!!!

First off I would like to thank Richard, Ed and of course Doodle Bug their pet duck for making us feel at home. We got married on April 4th 2008 and planned our honeymoon at Terrace on the water. We rented a lil cozy log cabin right on the creek.

This place was perfect as it was close to all the downtown atteractions yet it was located in a very quiet and peaceful setting and at night we would sit in the red rockers they provide on the front porch at night with the creek right underneath us. I Love this place. The rooms were very clean as was the property. The creek was crystal clear and the mountian air so pure and refreshing.

We will be comming back to gatlinburg in the summer on our 1100 vstar motorcycle and we definitley be staying at terrace on the waters again. Thanks Richard, Ed and Doddle Bug for making our trip one we will remember. P.S. we loved the popcorn machine and I even brought some bqack with me to feed to our pet parrot. hehehe Thanks guys, Tim and Ginger

My wife and I are from Indiana and love coming down to experience the charm on Gatlinburg as often as we can. We really enjoyed our stay at Terrace On The Water. It is a clean, comfortable, and relaxing place to stay that is right on the main street of Gatlinburg and within walking distance to everything. The owners put in a lot of work beautifing this motel and genuinely care about the people who stay here. If you want a clean room, right on the main drag for a reasonable price, look no farther. I recommend Terrace On The Water.
