Gatlinburg Town Village

We had a timeshare in Hawaii which can also book other location. So, we gave this a shot. After reading those review, I was scared. I brought my own pillow just in case.

We checked in with no problem. The room looked very clean. The kitchen area is decent. It's a studio. It's not king size bed and the sofa bed caved in a bit. Not too comfy. I guess we stay in the newer phase for town village. The town sq across the street does look much better.

We just did laundry. Got the front desk and ask for detergent with no problem. I think the hotel is ok. A bit far from the town. It's 5-10 mins walk uphill. There is no trolley ride in Nov.

“More than I expected”

Gatlinburg Town Village

I booked this hotel through RCI. It was our first time using our timeshare for a trade week. I found the reviews on this website to be Very scary! I even looked for other hotels in the area in case the previous reviews were correct. We were given a very nice 1 bedroom unit in the Town Village. The Check in took all of 10 minutes. We hauled four 4-wheelers on a trailer and the hotel was very accomodating to our trailer. We had our 16 yr old and 15 yr old with us. They loved that the kitchen was stocked with all the appliances and dishes you would need. They each made ice cream shakes several nights with the blender that was provided in the stocked kitchen. It was very clean and we had a private outdoor balcony. There was a washer and dryer down the sidewalk from our room and it was free. Activities were planned everyday, although we only went to the Meet and Greet. That was where the hotel brought in several (maybe 12-15 ) promoters of the various things to do in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, they tell you a little about what they offer and then give away free stuff. We got a free pass to go whitewater rafting where we had already booked reservations. So that saved us around $40. The hotel was off the main drag so it was quiet, but everything was within walking distance. The hotel is up a hill form the main drag and sometimes was a little workout, but that just meant that I wouldn't have to use the fitness room. The Town Village is associated with Gatlinburg Town Square and they let you use any amenities of the Town Square. But we had an outdoor swimming pool at our complex and we were too busy use much more than that.
We were invited to a RCI meeting to "update" us on how the timeshare company was changing. It turned out to be a sales pitch and took up about 3 hours after touring their condo unit at
Town Square. But we did receive gifts that made up for the time.
All in all, we were treated Very Good, and there was alot of stuff to do in the area. The hotel was great!

“Could Be Better”

Gatlinburg Town Village

To start off, this was part of a timeshare deal. I was to do a tour of Gatlinburg Town Square and was placed in Town Village Inn for my stay. The resort was across the street and was 10 times better than the hotel/motel. That was the first red flag for me. The check-in process was a little long. The elevator was VERY small and should be inspected. It also smelled awful. The room was clean and very spacious but also very outdated. The furniture was old and the carpet needed to be replaced. The facility did not have a vending machine but did have a coke machine. The one king bed room came with a "college dorm" fridge and microwave. The microwave literally sat on top of the fridge. There was an old sofa and 19 inch TV will cable as well. Check-out time was at 10 am which with my experience is a little early. The location of the hotel was really good in relationship to the attractions. The worst part of the entire trip was when I tried to check-out a day early but could not because the $100 deposit (I chose to use cash) that I put down was locked in a drawer and the manager had left for the day and no associate there could get it out for me. I had no choice but to wait until the next morning (which is when I was suppose to check out anyway) when the manager would be there. I was not offered anything for my inconvenience.

We went there to check out there time share condos to start things off the numbers we were givin for contact people was disconnected. Then when we went to check in the person at the desk was rude and if were in my employment would have been kick out the door faster than a speeding bullet. I do not know where the person than wrote the review before me got the photos he shows but the room does not even come close to what he shows. The first room they put us in was so small and dirty that i would not let my dog stay in there but we were worn out from the drive so we stayed the night. Then when we went to the time share in the morring we were asked as a group of 20 people if we had any comments or problems THAT WAS THE WRONG THING TO SAY so we told them of all the problems we were rushed out of the group shown the way to the desk and given our gift and shown the door. LET ME WARN ANY ONE WHO THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE OR TIME SHARE DO NOT DO IT. From start to finish this place rates a -10

We agreed to a time-share tour in Gatlinburg and in return got 2 free nights stay. The time share we toured was Gatlinburg Town Square. They gave us a room at Gatlinburg Town Village. I believe they are associated in some way. We had free access to everything at the condo complex across the street. The room was spacious and clean. It had a rustic-looking gas fireplace and a small, fully functional kitchen. The bed and pillows were not good. The bathroom was clean and big enough. There was an extra sink with mirrors and electric outlet outside of the bathroom which was convienient. There was a sofa and coffee table and a small dining table also. Our room had a king bed, but with 2 doubles would be plenty big for a small family. I didn't look to see if the sofa folded out to a bed. I loved the location. It was off of the main drag and much quieter but still within walking distance of anything downtown. Just up the road away from downtown there is access to some of the best trailheads in the National Park.
