4 of us and our toddler stayed here 4 nights in may, and had a great time. 2-bedroom condo w/loft was perfect. incredible view. rooms were nice and clean. nice balcony to hang out on room for 3 comfortably, can squeeze 4 adults in. the road up to Deer Ridge is crazy, goes right up the mountain and doubles back on itself several times... be careful meeting other cars! you're about a 22-25 minute ride into town from here, approx 13 miles. as usual though we overbooked ourselves and should've done more relaxing things rather than the touristy stuff. i'd like to go back and hang out at Deer Ridge a little more, do some hikes and hit the pool.

"Best View in the Smokies" is their motto. They earned it. BREATHTAKING views. Individual condos so you will have many different levels of accomodations. We had a good one though. Great price. Great location. Not in downtown Gatlinburg. Very remote. Nice indoor pool. We just stayed a weekend. The condo was well equipped. Nice floorplan. 1 bedroom with loft. Basically a 2 bedroom. Fireplace. Nice little mountain place. Not fancy. You better be very sober and paying attention on the drive to and from Deer Ridge. :) Enjoy.

We booked our condo on hotels.com due to the fact that we waited too long to book and it was Valentine's/President's Day weekend. The condo was nice but it is way off the beaten path. There is basically one way to Gatlinburg and we had to travel through a very busy Pigeon Forge, halfway through Galtinburg and then the hotel was another 13 miles beyond the center of Gatlinburg. Be sure and get all necessities before you hit the resort, there is no restaurant or grocery store at the site and once you get up there, you don't want to go back down the mountain, especially at night. The staff was courteous, had lots of info. The room was clean but dated and had only bare necessites; no shampoo/conditioner, no coffee, no sugar. If you want to use the sofa bed, make sure you ask for the linens at check in as they were not in the room and we had to drive to the front desk at 9:30 pm to get them.They did have clean appliances and all the dishware, cutlery and cooking pieces you could ever need. The staff did give us info on a pizza/sandwich shop that delivered basic groceries like milk and bread. However, we ended up paying $6.00 for the gallon of milk! The indoor pool was clean as was the hot tub and sauna. They had nice outdoor facilites that included a large covered outdoor party room, playground, basketball court (although it was on quite an incline) and lighted tennis court. We did have the unfortunate experience of a "wind storm" that involved 60-70 mph winds for the entire night, very scary as we thought the windows were going to blow in, but certainly not the fault of the resort. I'd give this a soldid 3/5 but wouldn't stay there again as we like to be closer to hiking and restaurants.

We chose this hotel because of the very good reviews and weren't dissapointed. The apartment had a big living room with a fireplace and with a kitchen attached (with all supplies you'll ever need, although sometimes outdated), one bedroom with tv plus a gallery with a second double bed. The bath was big enough and clean.

It's not a hotel, it's a holiday apartment resort. There is no room cleaning if you visit for three nights, as we did - therefore you'll have to wash up your dishes by yourself. Also, there is no breakfast available and no restaurant (only a pizza delievery service).

The hotel is a few miles away from Gatlinburg but this makes it very quiet and enjoayble as Gatlinburg gets really loud and totally full of tourists in the evenings. On the other hand you'll have to pay huge amounts for parking in the evening if you want to got to town (like 7 $ and up).

The best things about Deer Ridge Moutain Resort is the view (every room has a balcony facing the Smoky Mountains in the south - you'll see beautiful sun sets) plus the terrace right in front of the swimming pool (unfortunately this is inside behind glass) facing the mountains and the sun, too. There is an internet access at the reception and the personell was really helpful.
