The place is very run down. I found nasty black hair all over the bathroom floor. The coffee pot had not been washed at all. The elevator was a very long wait, and when you finally got in it you wondered if you would get out of it. They said they were sold out of the room we wanted the truth was they only had a very few rooms available. Don't want to think about what they were like. Oh yes the heater made a loud noise all night and you were either too hot or too cold. Do not suggest this place until they have a complete make over.

The common areas look run down and the elevator takes forever, but we were pleased with the room itself.

You can tell they have been updating the aging rooms.

The furniture was new and nice and the beds were excellent. Really, if it weren't for the beds, I would have rated this average, instead of above average.

The mattress and pillows were extremely comfortable and the linens were very soft and clean. To me, these are the most important things in a hotel room.

Also, you cannot beat the location, especially if you are attending an event at the Convention Center. We were able to leave our car parked in the covered, private garage and walk anywhere we needed.

The hotel is right by TGI Fridays, Flapjacks Pancake House, the Cherokee Grill and the amazing, worth-the-hour-wait Calhouns.

We would stay here again. The staff we dealt with was very nice and helpful, especially Phil, who I think is the night manager.
