Travelled with my family including a 6 year old. The place in the first instance looks like a great value for money resort with a private beach. Located next to a fisehman village (or settlement) .
Bad things first : The white sand beach of around 80 mts long is used by the fisherman folk over there as a open toilet. We landed there in afternoon , when to the beach and played in the sand and sea . The next day curious to see the sunrise and enjoy the morning breeze , we went early (7 am) . A rude shock was waiting us, there were quite a few people literally using the beach as open toilet, you can see the s*** everywhere . Some of the men folks were waiting for us to leave. On observing this , we simply returned back and ventured into the sand only to walk in the evening. (God is great to wash off the sand with his mighty waves during the day)
The beach is used by the fisherman to collect their catch from the net during the morning time as well ( 7.30 am - 9 am) This can be projected as a entertainment by the resort.
The room is small and amenities are average , ofcourse you pay little compared to other expensive resorts (paid 1500 Rs per night) . The cover of sofa screeming for a change, the pebble toped bathroom doesnt look higenic ( a 15 mins wait needed between baths) . There was a bath tub in one of the rooms bathroom, but not working. My kid was disappointed.
So much power fluctuation that AC works on and off . But the manager assured that he will switch on generator if required.
Only the native kerala food (Appam, fish curry , Fish fry , Kerala meals) are good to have. Other dishes should be avoided. Not to blame , bcz the cook is a fisherman community lady.
No recreational activities inside the resort. They claim a yoga instructor can be brought on request.
Absolutly no place inside the rooms to accomodate extra bed. The beds are just encough for 2 people.
Around 3-4 Kms from Allepy bus stand and boat jetty. Need to pay 100 Rs for Tac Tac (Autoricshaw) for each trip to bus stand or boat jetty.
Food available only on order (should order 3-4 hours in advance) sometimes just a tea took 30 mins.
Good things : The manager Mr.Thomas should be appreciated for his kind and polite reception of guests.
The Kerala food served is good.
If you just spend you time inside the fence of the resort , you can have a quite time. Unfortunatly , during my trip there was some festival happening somewhere near by , so there was the continous sound of the load speakers. When it was not there , only the sound of the sea.
