We were recommended the Padma by a few friends who loved it & I can see why!
We had a fantastic 4 nights in a garden chalet, with the garden club lounge extras which we used every day..free internet, free use of gym,free non alcoholic drinx all day long...it does tie you to the hotel if u want to make full use of the free afternoon tea from 3-5pm & then the free cocktails & nibbles from 5-7pm, but we wanted a relaxing 5 days where we didnt have to go shopping etc. and so this suited us just right :)
The pool temperature was perfect, the room was sooo dark with its wooden shutters, which allowed for a good sleep in, the new renovations are magnificent, staff & service excellent. We didnt use the spa, as we thought the prices were a bit expensive. Will definitely return.

I went to Bali for the first time in Feb-March 2009. i read this site quite a bit before i went and basically decided to stay at the Padma because of all its good reviews. It was just amazing, even though the lobby was being renovated and closed down it didnt matter! The staff were so nice and nothing was ever too hard. The location was perfect, just a walk down the beach to Kuta, but far enough to be out of the hussle and bussle!

The breakfast was tooooo good! So many different things to choose from and everything fresh day after day! There were so many nice places to eat just down the road and CHEAP!!! 2 pizza's and 3 beers @ Sarpino's cost about $12!!!!!

I can recommend a place to eat in Discovery Mall. It's called Elevan Oceans or something like that and it is right out the back of the mall on the beach. There are massive lounges that you can just sit all night and be waited on hand and foot.

Bali was a great experience and much better than i was expecting! I have already got my Auntie and friends booked in there!

Good security, rooms were pretty, friendly staff and location was also very nice! you can walk to bars and go shopping.

Hi we are a family of 5, 2 Adults and 3 Children ages 14,12, and 6. We recently stayed 10 days at the Bali Padma. We were a little nervous about returning to Bali since the bombings but at no time did we feel threatened at all. The security at the Hotel was terrific. We have three girls and they absolutely loved the whole experience of Bali and want to make this an annual trip (of course we have to pay!!!!) The pool was absolutely amazing and being a lap swimmer the 40 metres was a bonus - just remember to take your own goggles. We stayed in the Deluxe suites and the rooms were interconnecting as requested. They were spacious and clean and the air conditioning was just fine. If you are planning to do business (as my husband did every day!!!) you can buy an internet voucher and download emails etc from your room. This was a bonus for him.
We always started our day with a wonderful breakfast - the food was an absolute delight - we have never eaten so much. The deck chairs at the front of the pool were a little hard to get but at no time did we go without one - there is plenty. I would have liked more entertainment around the pool and the resort as we tended to go out from the Padma to the streets - which was fine anyway. There are tons of nice restaurants and shops outside the Padma. All and all we would definitely go back again - not a cheap trip but a good introduction and safe experience in Bali. We took Surfing lessons outside the resort but I suggest going straight to Quicksilver 300mts to the right along the beach - much more professional. Also if you are going scuba diving stick to Quicksilver again we had a shoddy experience at a local dive company at Nusa Dua - wasn't worth the money. You may pay a bit more with Quicksilver but I believe you would have a better experience. We took over suitcases of our old clothes and gave them to the beach people - they really appreciated this - so if you need to clear out wardrobes do so. Don't hesitate to head to Bali you'll love it!
