There were a lot of negative reviews that scared me. When we got there, I fell in love with the place. It is true this is an old hotel with many out of dated ameneties(curtains, bedding, old paint, etc), yet it did not cause me to want to leave. In fact, I was glad my family had chosen to stay there. I believe the "oldness" only added to feeling a part of the history from many decades that have passed. This was a family trip with our 9 and 13 yr. olds and they loved the place too. This hotel is located in a perfect spot. We paid $119 each night for 2 double beds but this included a full buffet each morning. We were able to get discounted tickets to Magic Springs and they offered to call us in reservations. I enjoyed "the works" package in the spa and it was wonderful. The pool area was a bit weathered but we had fun in both pools. I think it's neat that they still offer a pool as it obviously has been there a long time. The parking garage was a block or two away, and it is for small cars. I could see this being a problem on a packed weekend. It did not cause any trouble for us, but I could see that being one drawback. This is not the Ritz Carlton, but I wasn't looking for that. It is easy to pick apart with small problems here and there, but overall, I really am happy we chose this hotel. It is very nostalgic. I would not stay anywhere else when goign back to Hot Springs. I did love the hotel, the city, and the service.

I've stayed at the Arlington Hotel numerous times through the years, and it's always been a pleasant experience. Of course it's an old hotel and sometimes feels old, but that's the charm of a place like this. It's unique and ideally situated in downtown Hot Springs.

If you enjoy hiking, you can walk past the pool on the 7th floor onto the mountain and hike for many, many miles on well-worn trails. Also, from across the street, you can start your hike in to the National Park. Bath House Row runs down the street from the Arlington (although the hotel does offer it's own services), and the other side of the street has all of the boutique shops. Additionally, the duck tours leave from right across the street.

Be sure and check out the Colonial Pancake & Waffle House just down from the hotel. Their pancakes are simply amazing! We eat breakfast there every single day we're in town.

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Arlington Resort Hotel and Spa in late April. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and we did not find a single thing that wasn't perfect. We understood that we would be staying in an historical hotel. Our room was very comfortable, the bed an absolute joy, and the views great. The lobby is very impressive and immaculate. We greatly enjoyed people watching - especially on Saturday night when the live band played and people gathered to dance. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. We also watched prom and wedding parties come and go through the lobby which was great fun.

The outdoor heated pool was magnificent. Although it was sweater weather outside late in the evening, the pool was wonderfully heated - not to mention the hot tub under the stars!

The Arlington Spa should not be missed. You will be pampered and well taken care of. We highly recommend "The Works" - soak in a hot spring water bathtub, enjoy a steam sauna, and a fantastic massage to relax you no matter how stressed you are.

We would definitely recommend this hotel to old and young alike. This is what a turn of the century classy hotel looked like - very elegant and pristine. I expected to see Al Capone coming down the hall. Turn off your cell phones and computers and go back in time to enjoy a simpler existance!

My mother stayed a few times at Arlington many years ago and wanted to try to stay there for our mother/daughter trip with her, my two sisters, and me. I contacted the hotel directly and dealt with the Executive Assistant Manager, Sheila Howell, who is the poster child for SUPERIOR customer service. She really went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect for us. I cannot make one single complaint about this hotel. Note, before you stay here, that this is an historic hotel. It is old but fabulous. The rooms are fairly basic and the walls somewhat thin, but our rooms were spotless. Every single person from the housekeeping staff (we had the same person all 5 days, which was nice) to the bath and salon staff to the upper management had one thing on their mind: Excellent Customer Service. They totally delivered and went way above and beyond what was expected. I also have to give a major shout out to Gayle Tamez, the Manager of the Arlington Salon. She took excellent care of us and also went way above and beyond. We had the mineral bath, hot towel wrap, aromatherapy steam and massage in the Bath House (3rd floor at the hotel), a paraffin pedicure (this was incredible) and a facial in the Salon (Oh LORD was that amazing!) Be prepared to tip lots of people, but keep in mind they earn it. You often get different people for each separate service.. it can add up but like I said, they earn every penny they get. The restaurants and shops line Central Avenue and most of them close early, but we were met with genuine niceness all across the city. Try the specially made sausage at Pancake House (can buy it next door at 'Savory' to take home with you). Angel's Restaurant had an awesome menu (Jackie, best waitress around).. Everywhere we went the food was very good.. OH, Rolando's was really delicious as well..best tamales I've ever had and I live in Texas! Try the outdoor deck for dinner.. Hot Springs is just an unbelievably gorgeous place and well worth every single penny. You can get by on a budget, but you'll want to splurge and do some spa treatments.. YOU deserve it! We will definitely go back, hopefully sooner than later. I'll definitely stay at The Arlington again and again and again. Give them a call.. Tell them Jamie from Austin sent you!
