My husband and I just spent three nights at the Marigny Manor House. The B&B is in a beautiful old house, immaculately kept by the charming hosts, John and Gil. We chose the B&B because we didn't want to stay in the French Quarter, and we were very happy with our decision. We found Frenchman Street to be wonderful and enjoyed all the music we heard there. It was so easy to stop off there every night on our way home as it is only a couple of blocks from the B&B.
Our room was large and comfortable (though slightly chilly our first night - it was unusually cold in NOLA for this time of year). We were in the Courtyard Room and couldn't hear a thing from any other room or the street. Breakfasts were delicious but some travellers may wish for a lighter option. Should you not want to eat a very heavy breakfast every day I recommend you advise Gil in advance, as there is only one option provided in the morning. They will cater to your needs but do need to know in advance.
Our favorite part of staying here was chatting with John and Gil who are simply wonderful gracious people who seem to genuinely enjoy getting to know their guests and pointing them towards all the wonderful things NOLA has to offer. We would recommend the B&B to anyone we know, and hope to return ourselves one day.
