We had a 16 person group for dinner at Mr. B's tonight. The food was amazing. At our table of eight three people from our group had the pork chop and it was so tender and so good I could have ordered that along with my meal. Two of us had the tuna and it tasted great with the orzo pasta. The tuna had a little unexpected spice to it. I also had the arugula and grapfruit salad, which was very good. For dessert we had the pecan pie and the bread pudding - both were good. The service was very good too and very attentive. I was impressed with the good food and it didn't cost an arm and a leg like a lot of places. The dinner prices were reasonable for a nice dinner at about $22 per entree.

I had been to Mr. B's in 2005 and had one of the most fantastic meals of my life. The jazz brunch was incredible. I was eager to eat there this April since they still weren't open during my January 2007 trip.
I sat at the bar both days and received good service. I had one of the $1.50 bloody marys on the first visit and it was decent.
My first lunch was BBQ shrimp. The foundation of the dish was like I remembered and I was very pleased to dip the bread in the sauce, unfortunately, I would say that over half my shrimp were overcooked. The ones that were cooked properly were perfect, so I was willing to overlook the mistake this time. I also had a great salad with house dressing.
My second lunch was gumbo ya-ya, which was decent, and a friend oyster appetizer. I was very pleased with the taste of the oysters; however, I did not think I got enough of them for the price. In fact, if I would have had more time, I would have just ordered a second helping.
My overall assessment is that I'm glad they're back and I hope they can improve to where they once were in 2005.
