We stayed for 6 nights at the Prince Conti after combining the stellar reviews and the reasonable price. We requested a quiet room in the back and sure got what we asked for. They gave us room 248, which was in effect a mini-suite, with one part consisting of a room with desk, couch, TV, and 3 other tables, there were 2 small closets, and toward the back, a very large area with king size bed, tables and lamps, and a large chair. All the furnishings were attractive, and in the antique style. Although the hotel is 2/3 block from Bourbon St. there is absolutely no noise from that direction. The only noise we heard was on the weekend from the hotel's nightclub, directly below our room, and that was well-muffled jazz, very pleasant, and ended about 12:30. The continental breakfast was very satisfactory - fresh juices, croissants and pastries, coffee and tea, and fruit - don't know what those who have complained about it expect from a free continental breakfast. All the staff were always pleasant and accomodating, and yes the housekeeping staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Our stay helped contribute to a very pleasant week. We got a complete confirmation upon reserving, a reminder about a week before arrival, and a thanks after our stay, indicating that the management has the guests in mind and cares about their stay and their opinions.
