We spent a long weekend at the Sportalm while snowboarding in Soelden. We had a double room which was absolutely tiny. With ski clothes hanging up to dry you could barely move around the bed. The pillows were as thick as a sheet of paper, roll up an extra blanket to solve the problem. If you are allergic to feathers or down, you may need an antihistamine too!
The plus side was access to a balcony which fantastic views so you could air things outside.
Interior clean but very dated. Bathroom with a nice hot shower but no soap or shampoos or any frills at all. No kettle or tea or coffee, but you can go downstairs and order them in the lobby.
There is a very old computer downstairs and it costs1 EUR to use the internet for 10 minutes . Alternatively you can pruchase 3 days wireless for your room for 9 EUR but be warned, the connection is frustratingly slow - it makes more sense to sit in the lobby with your own PC, as it's quicker there.
Nice sauna to relax in after skiing. Heated ski boot racks which makes such a difference on a cold morning.
The Sportalm's biggest plus is the breakfast. Fresh eggs every day, cheese, meats, muesli, yoghurt, juice and a posh coffee machine - brilliant. The family are very friendly and will try to accomodate any of their guests wishes.
