If you're visiting Kailua Kona on vacation, Tante's is an excellent choice to break away from the hotel 'breakfast buffet'. Located on the north end of the strip (Ali'i drive), there's a large parking lot behind the buildings, or it's an easy walk from the King Kam.
The menu is extensive, blending local flavors with traditional breakfast fare. It's probably one of the most reasonably priced breakfasts you find in the area, and the wait staff is very attentive without hovering over your table.
Breakfast on Ail'i drive is always a treat, before the streets fill with people. There's a great view of the bay from this restaurant, and there's a nice mix of people who frequent the restaurant. You may also enjoy 'Auntie' with her Uke playing softly in the background as your breakfast is served; go ahead, order something other than bacon and eggs!
While the restaurant also serves lunch and dinner, I can't comment on the menu; for many of us who live in Kona, Tante's is a breakfast destination. Whether it be a business meeting or a break from the traditional grab and go breakfast, stroll down Ali'i and start your morning with a good hearty breakfast!
